This is the final showdown for the Confirmation, so can I have the following for each player:
- Player name
- PFS#
- Day job
- Faction
- Anything you'd like to have signed off for your faction card
Hikage Kasai |
Player name: Cyril Corbaz
Character name: Hikage Kasai
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day Job: None (see below)
Faction goals: Forgo a Day Job check to finalize a report for the Society. DC 15 Intelligence: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Success!
Kendra_1 |
- Player name: Dawn Del Guercio
- PFS# 171013
- Day job Diplomat(Mediator)
So, I understand that I'm supposed to roll for day job, but I've never done this before. Is this a 1d20 roll, and if I have a +4 in profession, does this count towards my roll? Is there anything else I count towards that roll?
- Faction Grand Lodge
- Anything you'd like to have signed off for your faction card;
Would this include purchases? Generally do characters buy stuff after a game, or before the next game?
I have one other chronicle that I'm counting towards Kendra (Played pre-gen Ezren at level 1 for Overflow Archives). Can someone point me to useful threads regarding leveling up?
DM Kludde |
To roll a day job, you need at least one rank in a Professtion(something), Craft(something), or Perform(something). Any other skill doesn't count (exception: if you have bought a 'vanity' boon that unlock using a different skill for day job).
If you have one of the above skills, you can make a single skill check at the end of the adventure, and the result determines the amount of gold you get.
Knowledge-Arcana +5; Knowledge-History +8; Knowledge-Nature +8; Linguistics +8; Perception +5 Spellcraft +8
Kendra has a couple of knowledge skill rank, but no ranks in a profession, craft or perform skill. She also doesn't have a vanity yet, so she's not eligible for a day job. (In my opinion: don't worry, you're not missing out on much)
With the one Ezren chronicle applied, and this chronicle, Kendra will have two xp. She gains her second level at 3xp, so one more game and you're there! (unless you already have a third chronicle...)
Kendra_1 |
oohhhh... yeah.. a rank is necessary in profession, even though it's at +4..and I forgot I took a rank for another skill in lieu of profession.. I went back and forth with that and was a little confused.
Gotcha.. thanks for the info :)
This has been a great learning experience for me.. maybe better than in person, since I've has time to ask questions and look things up online..
I do hope you'll add to your list of games soon, as I'd really like to participate again :)
I think I've learned a lot, and will be better prepared for next scenario :)
I may have 4 total chronicles for 2 characters right now, so it's getting to the point of having to make a decision about which gets assigned where :)
Thanks,
Dawn

-Sovereign Court
I will retrain this character after this session, could you please use my new character's name on the chronicle (if I survive, that is)? New character's name will be 'Korr Chromeskin'.

Spoiler:We prevailed together."Hikage confirms what his companions said, and adds. "We indeed found a site of prime importance when it comes to the worship of Aroden. There's a room with twelve depictions of the twelve guises of the God of Humanity, though we were only able to decipher a minority among them. In time, this could prove a worthwhile archaeological site to the Society. As for the Gillmen, we encountered one of them, a holy man of his people who came to meditate in a sacred pool there. Many of his brethren also came, only to find a dire fate at the hands of an evil necromancer. At least we were able to give these souls a measure of peace and restore order in the cycle of life. All in all, we learnt much - not only about this place, but also about ourselves. Most importantly, that no one among our group would have succeeded if it weren't for the others, including you.
Whud I miss? ;) Sorry, I blinked and 9 or 10 posts popped up. Congrats!

Yeah.. sadly, same here Shonne!
Regardless, thanks all for a memorable game. I hope my MIA in the end won't badly affect my reputation as a player... I did my best to stay with it daily otherwise. Please feel free to give me solicited advice on prepping my character for next game. I have learned quite a bit, but I also know that each game is different with different needs. It's tough being a low level wizard!

A close relative suddenly died yesterday. Pathfinder may be a good escape or it may feel worthless and disrespectful. Or it may switch between the two. So far it has switched between the two within the course of the day so I still have been able to post actions but there may be a few days together where I just don't feel like it. Please bot me anytime I don't post within 12 hours.
I'm playing Adowyn in Segang Expedition and Guntir in The Confirmation.
Kendra_1 |
Thanks much Carla. will definitely remember that!
DM Kludde |
Sorry to hear about your loss, caps, my condolences.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with either feeling: join us if you need the distraction, and take a break if you don't feel like writing anything. Or, as you say, alternate between the two. You'll find only understanding here.
Triblin Runlark |
Condolences, and I'm with Kludde that we are a place of understanding.

Well said Kludde. I'm new here so really don't know people, but I join all in offering my condolences to you and your family caps.

-Day job Craft (Calligraphy): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Ever get this feeling when you start fighting an encounter that you're not only not optimized for it, but you're not even in the same tier as the rest of the group you're in, and you're all level one...
...and you're not playing a pre-gen?
Guntir Mithralfist |
I've had that feeling before. :-)
Crazy thing is, most of the important parts of what we're doing is all CORE legal (enlargement, oversized weapons, strength-rated bows...). A lot of PFS encounters are just too easy for anyone with a decent strength and a 2-handed weapon. Amiri, the pregen Barbarian, could solo large swaths of tier 1 encounters as long as she had someone to heal her in-between and solve the non-combat problems.
Guntir Mithralfist |
Write report to Grand Lodge: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
*sigh* I've yet to succeed at that check with any of my GL characters

Re: Seagang Expedition
I'll be visiting my in-laws from 6/3 to 6/8. I'll post if the hotel's Wi Fi is good, but otherwise feel free to bot me.

Also, I'm travelling to china for about two weeks, which might mean little to no posting (depending on google access). Creating and posting chronicles might also be an issue, but I'll see what I can do.
DM Kludde |
I'll be in China for the next two weeks, and I'm not sure what the internet situation will be there (especially, whether I can access google drawings). In the worst case, I might go black until the 21st.
Magabeus |
You haven't seen me around for some time for which I apologize. Some three weeks ago my computer broke down and it took about a week to get it repaired.
In that time I also experienced that I had too much on my plate and instead of being honest about that to myself (and you) I dropped the ball and did not resume posting when the technical issues were sorted out. I felt obliged to get back to you, but that became harder with every passing day. I finally have found the courage to get back to the Paizo site.
I have had a lot of fun playing in all the PbP's I have been in, but I feel that I need to take a step back and stop playing online for the time being. It might be that when my work and personal life willl settle down again that I will be back, but I feel I should not promise to posting regularly right now.
Thank you for the very nice games we have shared.
DM Kludde |
Sure, just hop on over right here. We were just about to leave :)
Dolly Saville |
From what I can tell from rereading the PlayTest document, is that, other than antics, there is NO mechanical benefit to switch out of being a barmaid. Even at high levels, for the stalker at least, I blow five minutes to switch between having +4 in some skills when in social mode, to having some intimidation (not even a class skill) in vigilante mode.
What I have learned so far is that I think playing a barmaid is kinda fun. So much potential as she grows ...
Kandal Enderkin |
@Dolly, the only real mechanical advantage at higher levels is that you have to be in vigilante persona to use your vigilante talents (and that means in my case, if I ever want to cast more than 1st-level spells, i have to be Scarlet Fox). I'm thinking they might change that up in the final version, because it's really kinda dumb. LOL
Kandal Enderkin |
It's listed in the Vigilante Specialization ability:
Vigilante Specialization (Ex): At 1st level, a vigilante must select a specialization that determines many of the abilities granted to him when he assumes his vigilante identity. Once this choice is made, it cannot be changed. Each specialization grants a base ability at 1st level and a number of class skills. In addition, each specialization has a number of unique talents that can be selected with the talent class feature. The base ability and bonus class skills apply when the vigilante is in either of his identities, but all of the other abilities are available only when he is in his vigilante identity, unless stated otherwise. If a talent calls for a saving throw, the DC for that save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the vigilante’s level + the vigilante’s Charisma modifier, unless stated otherwise.
So yeah, it's kinda weird. I think it's just meant to give you a reason to HAVE a vigilante personality at all.

Ah, thanks. Yeah, wasn't seeing much reason for it. Certainly no reason at level one! Except of course the hilarity of it.
Dalligar Reldane |
Hello Kluude! I'm here for your Veiled Flame game. I almost forgot about it, to be honest. Kind of glad to bring Dalligar out from the dust bin of my computer though.
Is the free retrain from standard rogue to Unchained Rogue still valid yet? I forgot to do so until I saw your invite.
DM Kludde |
I think the retrain is valid until you play a game with the character.
Everybody:
A spot opened on the veiled flame game. It's up for grabs for the first person to sign up on the list.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Is Veiled flame still available? I'm sorry I didn't appear sooner but I have been very busy recently. I''ll need to update Aurora's online profile to match what I have on paper.
SinBlade06 |
Kludde, I'm sorry to say this, but I have to back out.
Life is starting to get a little bit hectic for me, so I'm going to have to quit the games I'm in that haven't started and finish the ones I'm in.
As much fun as this team sounded, I am going to have to leave.
Good luck guys! Kill something for me!
