Damage Reduction and Multiple Attacks

I'm sorry if this is answered elsewhere, but my google foo has failed me. The question has come up tonight in our game:

Monster attacks PC with two weapons(Axe, club). PC has DR 3/-.

Say monster attacks deals 20 damage with axe, 20 damage with club. Does the DR take 3 from each attack, making it 17+17, or does it only take it once, making it 17+20?

DR applies to every attack that doesn't bypass it.

And that's what feats like Clustered Shots are for.

Excellent. Thank you. That was my impression, but the DM wasn't sure so asked me to post for clarification. :-)
