It seems you get around 11.5 points per minute inside a tower and not 1 point each 5 seconds which would be 12.
I passed a tower with a free window that had 'just enough time' to capture. But it was cutting it short.
Over time it seemed my 'buffer' became smaller and smaller. In the end I ended up at 997 - just 3 points short when time was up.
This increases the time to take a tower on your own from 1 hour 23 minutes 20 seconds to approx. 1 hour 27 minutes. 1 hour 26 and 30 seconds wasn't enough.
Not much of an issue - but useful to know. It also seemed it closed a few seconds early as my calculation was still giving me 998 to 999 with 5 min to spare.
