Question about Hellfire.

Rules Questions

Is Hellfire (Spell-like ability the infernal broodline sorcerer gains at 9th level) an evocation effect, or an conjuration effect? Since Owen K.C. Stephens said Spell Focus applies to spell-like abilities, I would like to know. Thanks and sorry for my poor English.

Ask your DM.

Energy damage is generally under the purview of evocation, and the closest thing to it mechanically is flame strike, which hellfire seems to be an unholy version of. Flame strike is evocation, so it's a reasonable base.

But strict RAW? Ask your DM, like eltacolibre said.

If the ability is subject to Spell Resistance, it's Evocation.

Citation needed? Spell-like abilities are subject to Spell Resistance by default. Are you saying that if I got a Cure Light Wounds SLA it would stop being conjuration (healing) and become evocation?

The real question is "IS it the gypsy's turn?"

Dark Archive

I assume so, since the gypsy is the one sending you the flame.
