Alright, well it had to be done by someone. There are so many great products out there whether they are Paizo products or not. Lets at least keep it to things that are applicable to playing Pathfinder, though.
I thought I would open the thread now because I am sure that some people have bought themselves gifts and are eager to share. I myself suspect that I have got some Pathfinder related gifts but do not know yet what it could be. I have a 12yr old son who is an avid gamer himself and would likely enjoy seeing me have something that would further those same endeavors. My wife is a strong supporter of our gaming as well so I'm certain that I will have something to show when the time comes.
So, without further ado... what did you get?! If you can show us a picture or link us something from the website it was purchased from (or one that has the product on it). Tell us what you think of it in case we are thinking of getting it for ourselves. Xmas isn't just a great time for gift giving but a time for playing with our new toys! :) It is also a great time for some excellent first hand experience customer reviews.
Heck, for that matter I know for fact that these boards are frequented by several non-Paizo (and Paizo for that matter) developers. I probably should have started this thread even sooner. I know it is typically bad form to push a product when it isn't asked for, so I am specifically asking for it now. Whatcha got in the line of "great Christmas present" category?
Hmm |
Thanks for starting this thread, Lune!
American Gods is a great novel! My favorite of Neil Gaiman's novels is still Neverwhere, though. "Mind the Gap!"
This isn't what I got, but what I gave. For Christmas, I immortalized my We Be Goblins Group in the Poem, 'Twas the Night After Gobfest . (Of course, that assumes that composing a terrible parody in electronic form for the sole delight of five people = immortality.) It's not complete, but then we haven't finished the challenges in the game yet either.
Our family celebrates Chanukkah and Christmas, but I'll see what I get tomorrow. I'm sure there'll be something fun in the mix. I'm hoping that everyone likes what I got them too!
Hmm

Christmas day in Brisbane- I have assembled toys and installed games. I have some free time to relax. It's about 86'F now and . The Duck, Turkey, ham and pork are cooking the mango trifle is being made.
My wife ordered some things from the U.S. for me but because of problems at the docks they won't arrive until next week:-(
I can't wait until lunch is over so I can go for a swim and take a nap.

Well, since you asked so nicely! My darling wife got me/allowed me to get UM, UC, ACG, and ISWG, plus Hero Lab. Just getting started, a little late to the Pathfinder party. I also got a large Chessex Battle Mat.
I'm grateful and feel extremely loved.
Was it the mondo mat? I so want a mondo mat!

Got a bottle of Patron, grinadine and orange juice. My wetbar was cleaned up, and in addition got a bottle of Jaegermeister and Kahluah (sp?). Also got a new shot glass, and a mixer.
It was a mix of Christmas present, and a "sorry I used your wetbar area to store my girly stuff" present.

My father got me kitchen appliances for when I move out with my now-fiance, but my mum won out with the cool stuff this year - the Firefly board game, and the 'Awesome Mix' soundtrack from Guardians of the Galaxy. OOGA-CHAKA OOGA-OOGA OOGA-CHAKA OOGA-OOGA!
In return, I got her a 1000-piece Disney jigsaw puzzle, which the whole family finished in eight hours. :D

So far, I've received a smoker from my wife, the book Smoking Meat: The Essential Guide to Real Barbecue from my baby girl, The Original Bacon Kit from my boy.
I've got a bottle of beer waiting at my brother's house for me. He and I try to get each other something the receiver has never had before each year.
I've also received plenty of smiles, hugs, and kisses.

Hmm, that was Kryzbyn. We both been around the boards a long time and happen to use the same picture. ;) It did sound nice though.
So it is. My tentacles must have blocked my vision of the avatar name. :)
Wait a minute. People that tell lies over the holidays get coal in their stockings.... Okay, there's no tentacles to blame, at least not today. I was skimming the thread quickly, saw the picture, and failed my perception check. (Not an uncommon occurrence.)
Our family got a bestiary, ultimate combat and Skull & Shackles Card game this year. I also got a new exercise ball (to replace one that got punctured), a new keyboard for my tablet and other fun stuff.
Most interesting gift: a keepsake from times past. My ancestors made their money selling booze to the miners in the California gold rush. My kids and their father found a website selling antique liquor bottles, and found an intact bottle bearing the glass engraving of the logo of my great grandfather's liquor business. It's got to be over 100 years old -- and it's something that my great grandfather, or perhaps his father, handled personally.
Is that cool, or what?
Hmm

A Blu-ray player
Cash money (that I'll use to buy a new Core Rulebook to replace the one eaten by the dogs. Oh, and new brakes for my vehicle)
Clothes
A Cthulhu tree ornament
Four of the Iron Maiden singles reissues
The original Battlestar: Galactica pilot movie
Lots of candy
Fruitcake (yes, on purpose because I love the stuff)
A bottle of Black Kraken spiced rum
The Psionic Bestiary
Cerulean Seas "Beasts of the Boundless Blue"
And last but far from least, time with family and friends

The best Christmas present I could want is my amazing wife and daughter, and the more than two dozen friends and neighbors who came over for our 12th annual Christmas Day open house.
As for actual presents, I got copies of Ultimate Magic and Inner Sea Gods, a mixed case of Belgian beers, a new French press coffee maker, several CDs (including Brill Bruisers by New Pornographers, The Both by Aimee Mann and Ted Leo, and Cursed to See the Future by Mortals. Yes, I have eclectic taste.), and a whole lot of delicious-looking chocolate. And some new shirts.
But, really, the best part was the party. I have some wonderful friends and the best family anyone could hope for.
Merry Christmas, everyone!

I did the annual CD exchange with my brother and Dad (Michel Thomas' Learn French Today and Bellowhead's new one from me; Space Guitar by Bill Frisell and Ganglion Reef by Wand from them).I bought my mum and my sister a breadbowl and a garlic press respectively and got a steel buckler in return!
My nieces got umbrellas from me; my nephew got a little rattle shaped like a lion.

I got the Technology Guide for myself, to compare and plan for a Fallout themed setting I'm making.
As far as non-gaming, a friend made a clutch for me. :)
