To everyone who put in a firearm, piece of sporting equipment, or some disturbing imagery devices as your entry...
...kudos for your bravery. You swung for the fences and even if you didn't connect, you showed fearlessness in regards of the challenge and I admire you all for that. :)

BTW: I have up-voted a number of these items. There are some decent designs even with challenging material!

I really love one of the chakram designs. Nicely done! :)
Well, damn it. Now I have to build an arcane archer. Thanks a lot, cool item.
That's a very tightly written bludgeoning weapon there. Cool description, firm grasp of the rules and flavorful theme - Keep.

Marathon voter and still convinced the level of the average submission is the highest it's ever been.
The great items are still rare, but there's a lot more decent stuff than in years past.

Bad formatting is no indication of quality.
I saw a badly formatted item, then read it and litterally went: "Ooooh.... oh thats... oooooOOOOoooh....!"
Now I want it so I can totally annoy the players in my home campaign :)
Ooooo! Just saw an item whose name comprised two of my favorite words. And I thought it was cool! And affordable! And as a GM it'd expand my ability to challenge the players in interesting ways while not overwhelming them!
I very much hope it makes it to the Top 32. Kudos, whomever! Ku. dos!
While I'm not really sold on us needing another item that does [x], the visual created by your [weapon] was so cool and cinematic that I just had to upvote it. May that image be compelling enough to others, designer!

A wonderful staff, the first I can say "wonderful" of.

Oh that is a really clever and simple rod, that's ALMOST a joke item but not quite. While I have a gut fear it could be a really exploitable item in the hands of the wrong player, that displays such a perfect blend of clever concept and a nod to an existing item (but in a good way) that I am super happy to vote for you, rod.

Still getting rotten items, but getting some neat, new, good ones too-- just saw an arrow I'm adding to my keep list, it's so flavorful and begs to be used in a certain setting-- probably more by NPCs than by PCs, but heck, with the right party, anything's possible. It's just a cool visual.
Ah, I just found a really cool armor to put on my list of Keeps. Oozing with flavor.

That Rod is one of my two favorite items in the competition (the other is also a rod). I like them even more than my own item.

There is a Goblin item out there that does not mention Goblin even once. And it is so good/cool that it made it to my Keep list 0.0
Appreciating items that:
1 keep the PC/s (players) involved in the game and making decisions,
2 are not scene enders,
3 have good visuals,
4 give the GM the chance to spark off #1-3.
Have seen most of this happening in weapons, rings and sticks up to now but some rods and armours have made my keep list too and their numbers are increasing.
A joke item going on my keep list, because the effect is cool and I love the visuals :-))
A staff with an elegant description and thematic spells : upvoted :-)
First shield to enter my Keep list. And it's a disarming one at that. Never thought I would wish to keep such an item.
But this one is well done and opens up a myriad of possibilities :-)
Though of specific use and not really original at that, this rod opens up new possibilities with a strong visual. Upvoted.
"The black raven" is either in my time zone (first to see the sun) or is still up and making sense waaaaaayyyyy past bed time for all you others!!!!
Pssh, it's only just past 1 am in this time zone. :P Plenty of voting time remains.

European (French) here. That might explain it (mid-morning in France) ;-)
The black raven wrote: European (French) here. That might explain it (mid-morning in France) ;-) Vive la France! - it would be great if it was mid morning here still - more time to vote tho I'm slowing down now and waiting for the promised cull.
Oh, I think I like you. You remind me of my item that I didn't submit last year (though still want to do something with some day) but have a completely different suite of powers for the theme.
Nice, not all weapons have to be slashity stabity of uberness. Way to give the character something else to do instead little weapon. :)

I'm no Judge. I leave the final selection process to them. I vote on the basis that the Judges are looking to me to up vote stuff that will make the game better. I can't down vote the better idea even if it is a mess! I just can't mercy kill creativity.
Ah, that's a nice new (to me, at least) staff...

Well I have my 32 keep items! :) Some of them may have been culled, but I don't care; I like what I like.

I find it interesting that the one item I can say is on each of the keep lists of myself, Jacob Michaels, and James Casey is a rod. One of the more maligned varieties this round.
But it is a REALLY cool rod! :)

That is by far my favorite Rod in the competition. I can verify that the Rod is also on another person's list.
The other Rod I really like is also much maligned.
Hmm, the writing on this staff could be tighter, but I'm certainly digging it conceptually. Well done, designer!

The other Rod I really like is also much maligned. I know of the rod you're speaking of and it's the only contender for top 32 in my eyes in the rod category.
Hardest call was when I ran across 2 items from my pit crew against one another... I gave them an equal shake. Creativity trumped superior mechanical writing in this instance (not far enough apart) and that was post cull.

To those who were culled: take heart! Many of us were impressed by a number of items cut and were shocked to see them go! Please do not be afraid to post your item on the Critique My Item thread when it becomes available!
because I loved the idea of keep list trading I was forced to narrow down a top 32... I could have done 64 and that's the first time I've said that. There are items that would have made my top 32 that were cut. Good job everyone this was a really good showing.
