This year is much better that the 2 prior years of voting. I feel like I am seeing items that made it past the first cull. Call me impressed so far.

It may have helped that I did a roughly demi-cull for DQs before voting started, but even so, it does seem like the shorter timetable may have led to a higher percentage of the entrants being serious about entering with care.

The majority of what I'm seeing are solid concepts, definitely. Most of the issues I have are "needs a formatting pass," "missing a construction requirement that is otherwise called out in the description," "works better as a different type of item," or "has unneeded history attached." Quite a few could be tightened up with a rewrite for polish, also.
But overall - some very solid concepts in play! It's making me kinda nervous!

More of my posts in the snarky thread have been "I love this!" than not, I think. I have 23 items in my list of things I really like/would use in a game so far, with a handful of those being things I think will probably make the top 32.

I have to say, most of the staff I found range from "solid" to "very good". They may be "hard mode", but when done well are extremely cool.
There's also an awesome item that made me go "awwwww" as soon as I saw it. Got to upvote it 3 times :D

Wow, THAT staff gets my vote every time it appears in a pair now - even if the other item is my own! Wicked staff! Absolutely Wicked!

Amazingly clever weapon nice job... I am Groot (only hint)

I've only seen about 10 items so far, but one was an awesome staff. It's actually similar to an idea I had about a day after submitting, which I'll now likely never develop, since this one did things so well, I can't imagine my version would be able to be better.

Just spotted a very noteworthy shield. I would totally use it. And its power is clever and thematic, not just powerful. I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the Top 32.
I'm finding that there are a lot of creative ideas that I see...but really, really needed a couple more strokes of the editing pen. I have one item I've seen that I REALLY like, but I have seen quite a few that I like a lot.
Only a lesser amount of some have been straight up rejected from me. Well done everyone so far.

Kicking myself thT I didn't think of a cool aquatic one last adventure path, so simple yet cool

Just read one that wasn't perfect, and I doubt will make the top 32, but it was inventive and it sounds absolutely delicious!

Okay, super visually appealing description, so cool that I was a monster I'd want to invite the weilder of this object to hang out and go all googoofanclub all over him/her.
Is it just me or is the percentage of good formatting and well crafted writing way up this year?

Just got my first keeper ring! Really interesting ability, and not a single numeral in the description.

the bag is really mixed this year with the change up, some really strong and really rough items too
The other day I received my very first "REAL" sword. Not an ornamental wall hanger either, the real deal. That's by far the coolest item I've come across lately. Now if I could just enchant it...
I thought I was looking at a Cage-themed joke item, but it was actually pretty cool.

Sweet Armor and Shield combo designed by two different people that works so perfectly together. Both are really good on their own, but together they make one concept that is mechanically really solid and not over or under priced.

Seeing some really good designs here. Only a few items have stood out, but I see very little I don't at least respect.

I really enjoyed entering and I'm loving voting. This is my first year, so I can't compare it to others, but having a blast. Also, I'm really enjoying seeing so many ideas in one place, it's quite inspiring.
All the plant-themed items I've seen so far are REALLY super neat.

I have a real soft spot for items whose primary (or entire) use isn't combat, and I've seen a few great ones so far.
I've seen a significant number of items that I wouldn't blink at in a publication and two great ones. I'm particularly attracted to the items that don't remind me of anything.

So many good items! My brain is not nearly as pained as last year. I have a lot of items that have Top 32 potential, if you forgive formatting.

For the first time this year, I just saw a good item vs a good item in the voting booth. Both of them made my Keep folder as Weak Keeps. :)

I have seen an item that should have been put by Paizo in their books a LONG time ago. It is both that good and that obvious :-)

I just saw an item which is near perfect AND makes an obvious reference to one of the CRB's iconic items. Very well done.

And there is my third Keep! YAY!
Nice item I have seen in ancient Persian relief carving murals, so helpful but somehow not in Any of the books/pdf's yet, hope it gets in, formatting needs at week, I will make an exception on my formatting snobbery.
1) an item to terrify as well as garner an Xmas tree! Very cool concept
2) a staff with a well rounded and usefull theme, I' m not gonna lye( wink)
And 3) an item priced so low that it must have in it's description "firesale at a dollar store" in its creation requirements. But aside from that easily reworked aspect it's mechanics and description are truly superstar!

That is a really cool shield.

Welcome to my Keep folder, Very Awesome Armor. I'd not be one bit surprised to see you make Top 32.
Hmmm...nice set of armor. Theme sticks together, format looks good, and I could see it on an adventurer. I don't think it'll make Top 32 but it IS good.
13 slots in my personal Top 32 filled.
Annnnnd I think I found a personal Keeper-but-not-quite-Top-32 weapon. Creative!
There's this one suit of armor that I just completely adore. It's equal parts hilarious and horrifying. I want ten. Twenty. I want every PC that can wear that kind of armor to have one.

I just saw a pretty cool idea. Unfortunately it wasn't formatted right, did not use the correct feat in construction, and was definitely a quick reskin.
But the core idea was definitely nice.
I just saw an item with an Anime effect I love. And I don't especially like Anime. Well done.
