Is Hypnotism ever worth it? Low level Kitsune Sorc help.

Advice

I'm Building a Kitsune Sorcerer for Kingmaker and I was wondering if the spell Hypnotism is worth taking early on/ever?

Also any suggestions for level one spells known? I was thinking Mage Armor and either Bungle, Sleep, or Hypnotism

A lot of the effectiveness of hypnotism depends on your DCs. What are your stats like? What feats are you taking? What is your bloodline?

Hypnotism is a nice spell, though I am more fond of charm person, which scales with you. I have seen kitsune at low levels make good use of daze cantrip, too.

If you take daze, hypnotism or sleep, plan on trading the spell out at 4th level so you don't get stuck with a largely ineffective spell.

What you want to do is have an enchantment spell for each spell level, and other spells that target other saves. Have a variety so that you can use them in different ways with different creatures.

I play a Maestro Kitsune sorcerer and without even trying (I've taken the kitsune racial FCB, but no backup feats) I have phenomenal enchantment DCs. But life is about more than enchantment. It's a good idea to have spells like silent illusion, grease, snowball in your repertoire as you level up so you can handle a variety of situations.

Mage armor is an important spell which works well off of a wand if you have that option. I started out my kitsune maestro with Grease and Charm Person. I didn't take daze cantrip (because the bloodline power is a scaling daze spell for Maestros) and I went with acid splash as my offensive cantrip.

Tell us more about what you want to do, and we'll help you build it.
