I need to write that more often since I then immediately get two new items I haven't seen. Still haven't seen mine and its not on items seen. I wonder when to get worried!

The good: Still seeing lots of new items.
The bad: Still have not seen my own.
I know I'm imagining it but some items I just keep seeing again and again and again.
On the positive side, it is a new item. On the negative side, I can't vote for it in good conscience.
Sigh... Still haven't seen me item. It is on the list though. Hopefully I didn't get DQ'd for some reason I wasn't thinking of.

Oh, staff. You were so well put together, I can't vote against you. Even if I wanted to.
What did a Bard do to them I wonder?

ready for a mind freak, maybe they hate skalds!
Man I'm starting to get really closely contended pairings
Like they might be middling but they are nearly the same middling. Or wow those both suck nearly equally as bad. Or in one case 2 very solid upper end items.
One of many lethal/special effect energy whips versus one of many action-at-a-distance swords... each of these unique items I've seen three times at least.
If whichever one I pick goes up against a missile weapon that makes combat maneuvers, how will I justify myself?
--> I'm jealous of the people who keep saying they've seen hundreds of unique items. I haven't kept a sheet, but I'm fairly sure that out of the two hundred possible unique items I might see in a hundred votes, I probably see fifty - or less.
(oh, and just in case - there's one whip that fits the above description that I actually think was very well done. There's also a sword that fits that description that I also think was a nice take... it's just that so many aren't :))
PMed you a link to my private stash, +200 pages enjoy
That's it for me tonight.
Saw my item once on the first day of voting, and then, nothing. Now, suddenly, I see it twice in a row. How does this voting algorithm work?
That is far and away the best typo I've seen yet. I wish that really was a spell.
Oh, joke item with poor formatting, I actually like you.

mplindustries wrote: Why are there SO MANY:
1) Shields that disarm attackers
2) Items that reverse the "polarity" of your channeling or how channeling affects you
3) Sticky armors
4) Stuff that provides continual silence
Stuff like blades that cut space/time and let you teleport I expected, but these things...they're such a weird niche, but there are tons of them. I think at least 6 of the first, four of the second, five or six of the third...is there really a great need for this stuff?
Ok, I think I need to add another:
5) Items that cost 40k+, but that only function when your party has a pair of them. Bonus points when the items are restrictive (if you need two people proficient with Ripsaw Glaives or two Full Plate wearers or two energy channelers, etc.). Even more bonus points when the effect of the paired items isn't even worth having one, never mind two of these things.
GM_Solspiral wrote: ready for a mind freak, maybe they hate skalds! Except like I pointed out, it says "bard" not someone with xxx ability.
How about poor Bard, the archer from Laketown? That unfortunate name choice by his parents means he needs to steer clear of that item!
WwwwwOW! THIS must be the raging hate of all things bardly item! U mad bro. U mad.
On the flip side, there are a lot of items out there this year where a character with some maxed out UMD could fool them all, and he'd be a walking death machine. Paladin focused swords, and evil dude focused armors, and a goblin helmet or something. I mean UMD can cut through a lot of the restrictions.

And it's also clearly not the fart item either.
Okay, one of these items is clearly stalking me, seeing as it comes up at least once EVERY SINGLE DAY. The thing may also have eaten my item, judging from its absence after many many votes.
Go away, oh enigmatic devouring stick! I have no more treats for you.
mplindustries wrote: Saw my item once on the first day of voting, and then, nothing. Now, suddenly, I see it twice in a row. How does this voting algorithm work? My understanding is that the algorithm is such that it tries to break controversy (i.e. items being relatively on-par with each other in terms of upvote value); this is why the most commonly-seen things are the absolute worst 'will-never-get-an-upvote' items (because they're controversial relative to each other, in their low bracket) and the items in the middle of the range beyond that (because there's a big wash of averageness, because of bell curves).
Sometimes you just have an improbable event happen to you, though, and see the same item multiple times for no reason; most likely, however, your item has moved around a little and found itself in a tie with a lot of other items, and needs to move around more to 'settle' again.
I haven't seen a trident, surprisingly. Several interesting themes to run with there...
I wonder how many PCs even have any ranks in that skill, much less than many ranks.
Oh. Oh, that's just awful. Well. Now I have 55 seconds to kill and I don't even have to read the other item.

This weapon triggers one of my deepest phobias.
And I want one. Good god do I want one.
mamaursula wrote: Mystic Lemur wrote: Oh. Oh, that's just awful. Well. Now I have 55 seconds to kill and I don't even have to read the other item. My wallet hurts when it see all those +1 or +2 items that still manage to cost in excess of 200 k.
Just to double-check, the format for a weapon is +[number] [abilities in alphabetical order][special material][weapon type], right? For example, +2 anarchic holy darkwood halfling sling staff?
No? The + goes at the end. Flaming burst keen greatsword +3.
James Raine wrote: No? The + goes at the end. Flaming burst keen greatsword +3. Nope. It comes first.
The Core Rulebook wrote: This +2 cold iron longsword becomes a +5 holy cold iron longsword in the hands of a paladin.
The PRD and Core Rule book both have the +x at the begining.
PRD Weapons Section

The Core Rulebook wrote: This +2 cold iron longsword becomes a +5 holy cold iron longsword in the hands of a paladin. Correct. Weapons and armor/shields have the +X in front, other magic items have it in the back, i.e. cloak of resistance +1.
Wow, that's an inane little deviance from previous editions. My bad.
mamaursula wrote: This is a serious question, because I simply don't read all the possible game setting/AP/adventures available - is there some adventure somewhere that has an extended courtly setting to it that warrants the large number of court related items I'm seeing or is it just a design area that people are exploring?
Please do not accidentally DQ yourself answering this question!
Carrion Crown: Trial of the Beast comes to mind.

And it's also clearly not the fart item either. I see the corny item. I also like it. The two items actually go together quite well. Is there a salt themed item? Such an item combined with the other two would be unstoppable.
Overpowered SAK vs boring ?
Boring wins.
Boring? Oh good my +1 puffed rice cake of exceptional blandness is in!
"this +2 ring of rods and armor lets the Hodor cast Hodor while HODOR HODOR HODOR!"
AAnnnnd, that's the end of my attention span for tonight.
I stuck it out for 2 more votes, and it was totally worth it.
I got the fart rod , and finally saw my own item!!!!
Attention span +11
Item has nothing but the description, no other details.
Easy win for the other item.

Phew, finally Dedicated. Would have happened sooner if I hadn't gotten distracted by making Magic pants.
That name isn't exactly wrong for what the item does, but it's a little misleading. The item is more interesting than the name implies.
