Thanks for using your wordcount to explain how the items special weapon qualities work. Would have been a shame for a one sentence description...

EVERYONE STOP VOTING!
Get up, go walk around, shake it off! This is for fun and we're all here to have a good time! I know I'm guilty of getting bogged down too.
Go back to your keeper list, find something you really liked and marvel at it.
Get a drink, watch a holiday show, hug your SO/child/pet/pillow and get some air.
We'll reconvene later!
Good Job everyone!
I already took long breaks today. Ready for more! :D

Oh hey, DC called. They want their ring back.

Dear consumable item designer,
You probably shouldn't have added that last zero on the end of your price.
Or the zero next to it.
Oh hey, Tolkien called. He wants his ring back (and no, not the one ring to rule them all).
EDIT: Auto-correct changed my attempt at back into bag.
Thomas LeBlanc wrote: Oh hey, Tolkien called. He wants his ring bag (and no, not the one ring to rule them all). Hey, I bet it just wanted to hang out with that ring from DC. They're good friends, just don't get to hang out often outside conventions.
Sigh... It's back to two items I dont like.

I'm watching Netflix as I vote. Sometimes it takes hours for me to vote for a round cause I forget it's open :P

Over 900 votes now, going to go sleep. see you all tomorrow!
I saw a romance themed item that wasn't bad actually.
I'm frankly amazed there are two items that do this in the competition. This one does it a little better, and with less apology.
Two...items...
Both have the phrase, "But in the hands of a..."

How bad does the other entry need to be before voting for your own. 'Cause this one's horrible.
ITEM: This effect is just like this spell with the exception of this part, which acts like this.
ME: oh, you mean the effect acts just like the improved version of the spell? Why didn't you just say that in the first place? And require that spell for crafting...

Thank you, I'm here all week.
(Also, #611 was my item. So I can stop obsessively voting, at least for a little while.)
You had me until you implicated the item can be destroyed permanently, and I took a better look at the price. You needed just a little more fine-tuning! I'm sorry. :(
Item, if you absolutely have to have a backlash effect - which you don't - at least try for it to be something that isn't automatically nullified by your own good effects. Now you seem like you didn't think things through. And you were such a nice little item otherwise.

Found an ~awesome~ staff. Had a couple nitpicks, but overall I am blown away.
Definitely coffee- fuelled eureka-effect enthusiasm in the description writing, just let it all ideas scream out of you like a cave of manic bats. But then take a few minutes to break the text into paragraphs.

So I could spend that mountain of gp's on that item, or I could have a well appointed castle made....going with the castle.
I think this is really the year of thrusting items...
Wow, that one was a vocabulary lesson. Not a bad item, though.
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber
Rod that is just a descriptive way to cast one spell vs. staff that is just a list of spells with some flavor text...
Thomas LeBlanc wrote: I think this is really the year of thrusting items... Perhaps it is due to the inclusion of rods? :p

Why yes, I have heard of Journey to the West...
Eh, your formatting is better than the other guy, and his item is boring, too. So I guess you get the vote.
gaah! daily uses and charges are not the same thing!
Okay I am better now. :)
Oh look another "Sword of does extra damage"

I keep having boring staves matched up against outright bad items, and end up voting for the staff...

oops. that special material does not exist in this game!

Soo... this weapon is designed to be wielded by someone with at least seven hands?
MaxAstro wrote: Soo... this weapon is designed to be wielded by someone with at least seven hands? Hah, I saw that one as well. Points for trying to take into account the few monsters that have more than two hands, I suppose.
And look, an item with an overly elaborate description that references a race that doesn't exist in Pathfinder. *sigh*
I'd rather have the Big Kahuna power listed first, but it seems a lot of people like to put it at the end.

Thats two keeper now. A staff and a club.

Well, that items tops my "would be a nightmare for GM bookkeeping" list...

I'm starting to get annoyed by these rings and other items that have ten different modes depending on which stone you happen to activate or the phases of the moon or whatever.
I like the way this item builds up, but then its big power will rarely come into play. Coulda been a contender!
