Despite being heralded as hard mode, I think the staffs are the best category so far this year!
....did I really just read an item based around [modern real-world sport]? Yes, I did.
...is it the second such item I've read? Yes, it is.
Is it going to get downvoted like the other? Yes, it is.
If you're reading this, and you think it's your item, and you're feeling bad about it, well... you probably should. Joke items were one of the things people were specifically advised not to submit, and c'mon. These are joke items. Just don't do them.
...meh, I should probably take a break from voting, I'm just getting grumpier and grumpier. Inevitable burnout, but items like this don't help.
Pricey item that is mostly useless (and subtly blaming the game designers in a roundabout, maybe unintended, way). Still gets my vote though
Why would the use of that item be and why would I want to pay that much for it?
That should have been a staff. Really
Still, it is entertaining to have an evocative wall of text win against a concise but so boring item.

Never .. ever..use "when the rod is stroked" .. in a description.
One could probably apply that to staffs and wands as well.
can't stop voting, must reach marathon status......

an extradimensional what?
one should never use stroke on anything item wise vaguely resembling something we lads have....it brings out our inner 8th grader....

Good item, but that word doesn't mean what you think it means.
Is there really that big a demand for nets? So far I've only seen one that is really amazing.
Ghost and haunt catching nets specifically
Very interesting item. Too bad that its name (which did sound familiar) would likely put you in deep trouble with a BIG comic publisher.
Seriously, next time, make a quick google check on your chosen item's name.
Still gets my vote over the holy divine of deity whatever. I mean reading these and similar words eleven times in a description with less than 150 words is jarring.

I have a new formatting pet peeve -- omitting the thousands separator.
I thought the same thing. Although the item was cool.

Gregory Connolly wrote: There is no possible way for an item to require less than half the purchase price in crafting costs... Some of us changed our price last minute and forgot to change the cost before hitting submit.
Too long, too complicated, for a so-so power. I get that your GM has your items stolen far too often with no saves, but still.
That concise, evocative and appropriate weapon, on the other hand. Just amazing that no one in Paizo thought of it before.
Wonder which one I should favorite
Wall of Text vs... Wall of Text.

Finally, a staff I like! And here I thought everyone else was just lying when they spoke of awesome staffs...!
And aww, my first marriage-themed item. It would seem I'm finally getting a glimpse of what everyone else has been seeing this whole time. No more ring-purgatory for me!

I want to create an arena where all the combatants are armed with nothing but grappling, sticky, adhesive, teleporting shields.
This could produce some stories...
Someone plays a Hellknight Paladin, I swear.
Still better than the list to Santa Claus in both powers and requirements. Seriously, an item that can only be crafted by your PC is NOT going to get my vote.
Mikael Sebag wrote: No more ring-purgatory for me! Wouldn't it be a ring of hell? because... because... Dante...
(i tried)
I find that if an item is properly formatted and reasonably easy to read and understand, the other item has persuade me very hard to vote for it.
On the other hand, well formatted but boring items have the odds stacked against them.
I'm starting to see a lot of items that are really, really trying hard to use all 300 words they've been allotted.
I dont mind 275+ word items, if the words are used to describe its functions.
If I get the whole story of wirt, the peg-legged boy, I'm flippin a table.
Bugs... Lots of bug themed items.
Item with bad formatting vs. item with worse formatting. x_x

I love this magic staff. It's power is very slight, weak even, but its effect and who it affects are beautifully done and have been added to my Keep pile.
Strong keep, one of a few so far.
No, you can't just apply a game mechanic related to physical combat to spellcasting. Well, obviously you can, but I'm going to downvote it every time.

I don't care who this item is "for", I want it. Thank you for restoring my faith in this competition, designer.
I have seen this ring 8 times. I've never upvoted it. Why do I keep seeing it? Are they testing me to see if I really think it's one of the least inspiring ideas I've ever seen?
Really want to give this item to an NPC I just wrote up.
ETA: I'd have to convert it to 2nd Ed. AD&D, though, so I won't.
In general, overuse of adverbs gets downvotes from me (+2 downvotes if the writer uses two adverbs while describing the item itself).
When an item describes itself as being crafted only in really specific, difficult-to-bring-about circumstances/from a really specific hard-to-get thing/as really rare, should that be reflected in the price?
Every single assassin on Golarion is going shopping once these items hit the black markets. Be careful who you insult or betray.
Hmm, the line between "cultural idiom" and "direct reference" is not as thin as this item's designer believes...
The X of..
Freezing Flame
Silent Yelling
Bloody Pristine Y
Wipe Open Shutness
Tightly Shut Open-thing..
Quiet yelling and yelling quietness are all over the place.
<sarcasm>Haven't seen a single ooze themed item.</sarcasm>
Aaaand there's a Disney reference. Calling it a night. Good luck, marathon seekers.

When does an item cross the line into a joke for you all?
I have seen an item or two that I think are home runs... but seem to be getting some critics.
Just because an item makes you laugh, does that make it a joke?
Creativity, flavor, and outside of the box uses count big for me.
With one of these, now you too can experience the thrill of being a [iconic monster].
I'm not sure why I would want this item, on the off-chance it could do that thing.

I have to die to use this?
General tip, don't use "you" in your writing for this under any circumstance.

Yay! Finally saw my item.
The formatting was exquisite.
Obviously a wondrous item made into a weapon
The net that seems like it is right out of a certain movie is my favorite so far of them. (How general do we need to be in these posts btw guys?)
So many objects of "now you're a druid (or sorcerer, or fighter, or...)"
