EDIT- and Dedicated finally!
I didn't, thankfully.
And congrats!

I felt kind of dirty voting for it. I didn't. Mine was up against an item that didn't even list a price. Mine was against an item that was probably slightly better, but I didn't want to rob my item of the one vote I could guarantee it.
I still feel bad though. I think it's fairly forgivable. :P When I saw mine it was against a weapon that would make for a perfect nemesis to my entry. I’d up-voted the nemesis prior, so I felt no guilt in voting for mine.
Just saw my first "wow" item, but it was the "wow, this is really bad" kind of weapon. :(
EDIT: and a staff gets my first "wow, thus is awesome!"

~facepalm~ Just got into voting. Very first matchup:
Random table item vs 299 word SAK.
Sigh...
EDIT: Round 2: 299 word item vs 298 word item. >.>
This..... Does this mildly overpowered thing.... And this other thing. Oh, I forgot... Once per day you simply win Pathfinder. Does every other item just seem terribly OP?
A few different "useful once each galactic rotation" items.
So far I only have seen about 5 items I would allow in my campaigns.
1 Ring
1 Sword
1 Armor
2 Staffs
Hardly any of the rods seem to impress, other than one really good one, but it wouldn't fit my campaign.
Also: I haven't upvoted a *single* item that augments mythic creatures or requires mythic crafting. They seem to all cost like 300,000 gp and have a huge list of abilities that are off balance. Basically: Artifacts.
This is exactly how [redacted] should have worked in the first place. Awe...that cost makes me cry.
Also, why have thrown weapons with all of these awesome items?
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber
So your item is just [unique armor from the CRB] with fancy flavor text...?
That's okay, you are matched against a staff I don't feel bad voting for.

word count really only matters if it's too many.
An item with a really really high price. It might actually be worth that price if the details were all there. I know how they intend it to work, but it's not written that way.
"Ugh, this is such as bad item... Wait, my awesome DM already used almost exactly this against us... Actually it was cheese then, so it's cheese now. Hopefully the other item is bet-- Nope. *sigh* Okay, Everyone? I'm going to upvote this item... But that's not an endorsement. Don't actually use it. It's cheese."
Neat item, but it's totally a wondrous item and not a weapon.

Suffice to say that all three 299-ish wordcount items would have benefited from half the word count.
...Okay, how many times did the rules say "don't use the formatting from Ultimate Equipment"? And you did that anyway... lucky you the other item is just really bland.
I definitely prefer items that do One Cool Thing.
Are a lot of peoples' GMs letting them play necromancers? Like, roll-through-town-with-six-zombies-in-tow necromancers?
I guess if you're playing an evil campaign, but otherwise these things scream "NPC" to me.
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber
Huh. Got two very, very similar items matched up - basically both trying to accomplish the same thing. Even the same kind of weapon.
One was clearly better, tho...
Pretty sure I saw a steampunk style armor. Better than the weapon it was up against by far.
Huh... I just got two equally well designed items... And I'm finding it harder to decide than when I get two equally poorly designed items...
Damn... I'm actually stuck on this one... Has anyone else watched Strip Search? I have an inkling of how Gabe felt in the later judgings.
I've only seen one item thus far I'd consider utter gamebreaking. I haven't voted for it yet. If it had some limitation to its powers...1/day it would still be a powerful item but at least it wouldn't run roughshod over the battlefield.

"Greatly prized by..."
Drink!
Also: Two items with "let me write my homebrew world backstory into this item, I'm sure you'll love it".
And one of them is "Only useable by [obscure race] when fighting [obscure monster type]".
And that's still the one I'm voting for, which says something about the other...
I find I'm favoring reaching items more. I should've taken a bigger risk myself.
Two thirds of the word count to backstory. One third to the actual item.

Your item's name is a bad pun. I'm only voting for you because I can't actually figure out what the other item does...

An item that makes me wonder why it doesn't already exist. That's what I want to see!
Oh no... friend, that's not how that works...
On an unrelated note, I have to say that I kind of like seeing two less-than-Superstar items paired up. Kind of takes the pressure off. :)
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber
Wait... you can include hyperlinks in your item description?! That's a thing the rules will allow?! o.O
You know what, for sheer moxie, and the fact that I was able to look up all the rules pertaining to your item in a matter of seconds, I will probably vote for your item every time I see it now.
Still kinda in shock...

Snerf Fibbler's Staff
This staff is prized by Snerf Fibblers everywhere. No one else would ever want it. It permits the use of the following spells:
Fibble Snerf I
Fibble Snerf II
Fibble Snerf III
Snerf Fibbler's Fortune
If you already have these spells (and you do, because you are a snerf fibbler), well, enjoy your overpriced wand.
Construction Requirements: Craft Staff, fibble snerf I-III, snerf fibbler's fortune, the trapped soul of a thrice-fibbled snerf

Horribly overpowered item vs joke item. What to do...
EDIT: Ugh. Obvious video game reference vs joke item. ~cries~
Taking a break to prep tomorrow's adventure. Was hoping to make Dedicated tonight, but I've gotta come up for air.

Doohickey of the Obscenely Rich Peasant
This item, which costs the collective lifetime income of a whole city of peasants, gives people a bonus when doing the work of a peasant, helping them to make money and things just slightly above the reach of average peasants.

Just saved my first staff. Now have something saved from every category. Took a while to encounter a good staff, but I like it enough to run it by my DM for use in our campaign, which I had only been planning for a weapon so far, assuming another player wanted a weapon like it. I'm 100% certain he's going to make edits to pull the power on it way back, but it's a really cool intent and set-up.
I have seen way too many save or lose items... except that there is not a listed save or the description specifically says that there is no save allowed.
Staff of Wizards Being Sorcerers is a theme this year.
"When a wizard holds this staff, he's basically a 7th level sorcerer too."
Torn about weapons that grant a bonus to nonviolent conflict resolution. It's a nice idea thematically, but it doesn't seem like an appropriate power for a weapon. It's like having a suit of armor that gives you +2 to Intimidate your enemies when you leave it at home and go into battle bare-chested.
Then again, maybe I just haven't seen it implemented well.

When the DC is low enough that a 1st level Rogue who dumped Wisdom will succeed half the time...then don't bother including it.
There is no possible way for an item to require less than half the purchase price in crafting costs...
Onyx seems the most popular gemstone
Also, could we have less items that create infinite loops all by themselves. I understand that optimizers can combine several effects to create them, but designers aren't supposed to create them on purpose.
So I just saw an item that does what mine does, but rather than flat bonuses, it uses certain class-based augmentations.
Mine has better formatting, and a more "pick up and play" ruleset, whereas the other item will require some book scouring.
That said, he clocks in way under my own wordcount.
Still, I feel good knowing that I think my item is definitely easier to use and better written. I feel bad having seen someone else with a concept similar to mine.
Up till now, I was a snowflake.
Is that actually a downside with an unintended upside? Not sure whether to vote for it because it's brilliant or laugh at it because it was very unintended.
I saw less than 20 items and already two with Beast in the name. O-o
Trend or luck of the draw ?
So tired of seeing nothing but my downvotes coming back again and again.
Weapon of the Unspeakable Name that requires you to speak its name for ridiculous stuff and the Ranged Weapon of Ridiculous Cost.
Or perhaps one of the fifty shields that disarm/eat/teleport/or get all sticky on the incoming attackers weapon?
Raugh!
Someone hasn't faced liches before.
The other had Silence cast on his character once too often I guess.
Erm, I think the term you're looking for is "alchemical silver."
And shields with eyeballs are everywhere.
Some words definitely should not be associated with Rods. No matter how accidental it is.
EDIT : looked at the format a bit more. Likely not accidental after all

I want to create an arena where all the combatants are armed with nothing but grappling, sticky, adhesive, teleporting shields.
