Once more thank you for all the comments. Whether you liked my item or not, I'm glad you voiced your opinion. The comments have been very interesting to read.

Now I'll probably be a bit more silent during the round 2 voting and focus on monsters. See you on the other side.

Silver Crusade Star Voter Season 8

Congrats for making the Top 32, I didn't see this item during voting, but it is certainly a novel idea.

I am not sure how balanced the item is, and a clever party could always abuse it. I kinda like the fact that the kobold in front of the dragon could spell its doom. So yeah maybe the item could use a couple of disclaimers, but the novel idea really saves it.

Congratulations for having made it to Top 32 AND Top 16!

Sorry I'm late to the party, I hadn't realized how big a task commenting on everyone else's items was going to be in the Official Critique Thread!

Seeing as how many other people have commented above me, and you've moved well on from this point... I'm going to keep my comments brief. To understand my rating system, see my larger post on my critique thread.

As an overall comment, each and every one of you that made it to the Top 32 must have had a "Publishable" item in my opinion because you appealled to not only the voters but also the judges -- so if I say "Rewrite" it's more to be "rewriteable to be SUPERSTAR!"

Superstar! -- I liked this item quite a bit, though I had a few questions about its design (that are mostly addressed above in comments). Very cool!

Congratulations Kalervo,

With the long wait of the final round I am catching up on the previous stuff I've missed. Probably too late to be of much use.

I never saw this in voting. It is well done, but it might not have been a frequent vote for me. The image of a giant needle is great, especially the gold thread fading out of existence. The returning was a great touch to the needle as well and I thought the binder aspect was clear. That image does not fit to me with the 'everyone in 30' feet attack. I would have preferred that every target it hit became threaded to the next instead. Once bound I like the affect, simple as it is. I am not sure it would be entirely breakable, but you could bind an ally barbarian to a enemy spellcaster for a Will or bind an ally spellcaster with your ally rogue against dragons etc. instead of just hoping to nerf enemies.

Well done. :)

It's a 30-foot line, so basically it does that? At least that's what intended to convey.

In the current mechanics, each creature uses their own modifiers and only the lowest die result among them is shared. So I suppose it could be flipped, so they would use the highest die result among them. That might be too powerful, since it's easier have your friends line up.

Though maybe the dragon will just wait and breath fire the next round. :p

Aye, I saw both of those after reading other's comments--which I didn't until making my own. Just as well I didn't see it in voting, I have to wonder how many rereads before I read it right. Bounding fits my mental image better, but a line certainly works.

& WTF do I know about what images or mechanics are right for RPGSS?!? Not as much as you :)
