...or the next patch is about to deploy?
...something completly different?
anyways, i can´t currently connect to alpha.goblinworks.com
dah, stupid me.
;-) i should really write that down.
Thanks
Does it always take this long for the server to come back? I thought it was usually only around 15 minutes or so.
It's been longer recently
Got past login, but now stuck connecting to server.
Ryan twittered that build 15 was being tested yesterday...
:-D So, i was right!
Edit: Well, i still forgot about the daily downtime
Let's hope they have either fixed the volume sliders or turned the stupid music off all together.
Spending a lot of time loading textures at the moment. Fingers crossed it's not a problem.

Aye!
And just before i´d embarrassingly ask -why admiral?- it came back to me.
Man, it seems like that was ages ago.
Does seem like ancient history (in a gamer's perspective, it kinda is). :)
Finally got the patcher to finish (had to reboot), now stuck before the login screen...
Where are you seeing that, Harad? Mine says Alpha 14 released Dec 9
I see it on my patcher, although I have just done a complete re-install.
Finally got to the login window!
My patcher worked fine up until the current release. The release itself may have something to do with it since...
"...This release also includes a functional Macintosh Patcher, and updates to the Patcher technology for Windows."
I suppose mine will eventually get past the "Downloading - Pathfinder_Data\Textures.pig" point. In the meantime, downloading the 1.7 GB Alpha 15 installer will take me a little while. We'll see which completes first.
Weird. I relaunched and mine still says 14
patched, then going on.
disconected every 5mn if not mobs and ressorces not showing up.
last time playing up to 10 mn then crash with insompatibily window message.
Patcher still say Alpha 14.
may be have to download full game ...
Was in game over an hour when no trainers when entering Blackfeather Keep. Have logged out and starting back fresh.
Just reappeared in a hex I was never in. 00.-5, NE of Blackfeather Keep. I don't think this is a result of the 100 account limit per hex.
[EDIT} incorrect, appeared in old hex where I last died. Still a de-synchronization.
If you are experiencing lots of disconnecions try making a brand-new character. I am curious if older characters have different experiences than new.
Well, my Alpha 14 patcher will not update to the Alpha 15 version. It's locked up in the same place (downloading the textures.pig) multiple times and rebooting the computer and/or restarting the program does not alter the result. I'll have Alpha 15 downloaded soon, so it looks like i have to do a complete uninstall/reinstall. Using Win 7 on an x64 in case anyone's interested.

My Patcher is still updating, it did take forever (over an hour) to finish patching textures.pig, and is still taking its sweet time on the remaining files, but at least I see movement now :). I suggest to just let it keep running even when it appears hung up.
I tried waiting on my patcher to update, but it would only error out eventually. Downloaded Alpha 15 and installed it and it works fine now. Patcher still says Alpha 14 for me, but it's working so not gonna complain.
My patcher also initially crashed, but restarting it seemed to do the trick. Once working, it did seem to take a while to update, but no troubles other than that.
I am actually very interested in the fact that the Patcher still tells you that you're on Alpha 14.
The Patcher "phones home" when it starts and gets an HTML page that we host on our site. That is a static page, and it's stored here:
https://goblinworks.com/patcher_landing/
If your Patcher is not showing you the current version of this page when you start it it means there's a problem.
It may be that the attempt to phone home failed and the Patcher is just using the same data it had from the last time it worked successfully.
It may be that there's a cache of some kind between us and you, for HTML, which could easily be causing other problems with the Patcher.
Either of those conditions is bad and is something I'd like to know more about. If you continue to see Patcher 14 text, try directly viewing that URL and tell me if you see Patcher 15 or Patcher 14.

This is the Alpha 15 Client for Pathfinder Online released Saturday December 13th.
[Edit] Just restarted my Patcher and it now shows Alpha 15. Somehow I don't think this info is going to be helpful...
Very strange. I see the version 15 info at the direct URL. However, even after restarting my computer and the patcher more than once, it still indicates it is on Alpha 14. It is working and I'm able to log in to the game, but for whatever reason, it's not updating to the correct version info for the patcher. The file date for patcher.exe is showing as 12/12. I dunno.
EDIT >> I think there was some sort of cache issue, though I'm not sure what. I right-clicked in the patcher window and refreshed it and it updated to the correct version info. No idea why it wouldn't update on its own. I'm sure it's something on my end since others aren't having the issue.
I restarted my patcher three times after downloading the big update and it continues to show 14
My patcher says version 15, but it's been trying and failing to load the update for about six hours.
I deleted all existing clients first. I downloaded the mac patcher, shows 15. I left thinking it might take a while and when I looked in 30-40 min later it was done. Hoping to get in for a while tonight.
I have seen before that the patcher has been lazy to change version number, but never thought much about it as the patch itself had come through.
So it is not a new ...bug/problem/effect/WATER!?
Had to download again and reinstall. Working now.
Mine downloaded on the first try, and let me into the game, but I didn't pay attention to which Version No. the patcher displayed last night. This morning it reads Alpha 15.
Long downtime again tonight?
Almost 2 hours for me.
When EE begins I think players would enjoy seeing an update on the patcher if the site's going to be down for an hour or more. I hope it wouldn't be too much trouble if it's just an update to a web page the patcher is linked to.
Except in cases where it is not planned down time.
From the Alpha Forums:
Ryan Dancey wrote: There was no plan to bring it down other than for normal maintnenace at 9. I have nit seen any email from the team indicating an abnormality. I will check the system myself in a bit and report if there is a problem.
Bringslite wrote: Except in cases where it is not planned down time.
I think players would enjoy outage notifications too.
Takasi wrote: Bringslite wrote: Except in cases where it is not planned down time.
I think players would enjoy outage notifications too. Oh I completely agree there. Many MMO's don't even let the players know that THEY are aware the server is down for some time....
A simple message like that goes a long way to sooth eager gamers. :)
