By that I mean, sometime in the last day or two I've noticed that whenever I'm viewing a thread, the page is wider than normal. I end up having to scroll back and forth to read posts. No idea why.

If it matters, I'm using IE.

Do you know which version?

IE 9, sorry.

Oooooh, I've developed a hypothesis: I think it happens whenever someone in the thread has a really long tag after their name (like a couple of years of RPG Superstar participation/voting, and maybe an "aka" tag). Do those never break into two lines?

The titles actually have a rule to wrap on smaller screen sizes, however, the links on the right don't. So, it could potentially do this if you're on a small screen and someone has a ginormous title.

Really? I haven't seen a single wrapped title, even when it's this guy:

RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2013 Top 16 , Marathon Voter 2013, Dedicated Voter 2014 aka RainyDayNinja
As an experiment, I tried shrinking my browser window really small, but it never wraps the title.

We put a special mod on the site called "siblingNuisanceMod" specifically intended to simulate how siblings interact in real life by making sure their titles cause issues for the other sibling.

Not really

IE is notoriously cranky with CSS rules like this. I'd recommend checking to be sure whether compatibility mode is enabled or not. I can assure you that titles are designed to wrap though.

It's currently not; lemme give it a try...

EDIT: Hrm, Compatibility Mode makes the links on the right (EDIT, REPLY, etc) wrap about 3-4 times, creating readable posts but awkwardly-large spaces between them. Pick my poison, I guess. :/

Oh well, thanks anyway.

I hate IE so much - I test software for a Financial Institution and we have to make sure we are backwards compatible with IE8... Its insanity inducing.

I'm having a similar issue, though I'm on Firefox 34.0.5 instead of IE.

I'm having this same issue when using Firefox 34.0.5 to view the Superstar forums (but only rarely in other Paizo forums).

I'm experiencing this as well (IE 9, Windows 7 Pro). Didn't notice the added need to scroll to the right until after the SuperStar 2015 logo/link was added to the left column though. It's also not in every thread, oddly enough. It is occuring in all my pbps, however.

Not sure if that'd be related to the cause or not. /shrug

@Epic and Dal: When Superstar started, anyone with past voting experience got tags added to their titles (like "2014 Marathon Voter" or whatever). In the Superstar forums, anyone who placed in past years has their real name shown in their posts, which then adds an "aka So-and-so" tag to the end of their title.

So I'd say you're both experiencing the same cause of the issue: long poster titles.

That explains it, Jiggy! Thanks =)

I notice it when ever someone has a long string of characters with out spaces.

I suspect you're right, Jiggy. The problem seems to be lengthy forum tags.

I'm having the same problem, using Firefox 34.0

If you are user: install any browser plugin for editing CSS, add '.avatar-title{white-space:normal}' (without quotes) rule there.
If you are site admin: change that rule on line 1258 of http://paizo.com/include/stylesheet.css so your users don't have to do it.
