Bleeding touch spell like ability

Rules Questions

I've just created a cleric of Pharasma and one of her abilities is the domain spell like ability "Bleeding touch."

When you read up on spell like abilities, the CRB says that, with a few exceptions, they function like spells including provoking Attacks of Opportunity.

The description of the death domain spell like ability says it is a melee touch attack. I interpret this as functioning much like if she was attacking with a weapon.

Which is it? And if it acts like a melee attack can she use it when she performs attacks of opportunity.

Since it's a Spell-like, it works like and other touch attack spell like Shocking Grasp. You cast the spell on your hand and touch someone with it with the same action.

The SLA is delivered via a melee touch attack, but it still requires casting unless otherwise noted. All the melee touch text is referencing is how to deliver the spell. This does not mean the spell is a weapon.

Also unless noted all SLA's are standard actions, and as such can't be used for an attack of opportunity (the melee touch is only the delivery of the spell). The exception to this rule is when you hold a charge on melee touch spells

"Holding the Charge: If you don't discharge the spell in the round when you cast the spell, you can hold the charge indefinitely. You can continue to make touch attacks round after round. If you touch anything or anyone while holding a charge, even unintentionally, the spell discharges."

If you were holding a charge you could attempt to attack an opponent with a melee touch attack during your Attack of Opportunity.
