I know this has been asked before...but I wondered if this has been officially FAQ'd? I've read some posts where folks say this is a legal combo and several others where they state it is not.
Hex Magus (Su): At 4th level, the hexcrafter magus gains access to a small number of witch’s hexes. The hexcrafter magus picks one hex from the witch’s hex class feature. He gains the benefit of or uses that hex as if he were a witch of a level equal to his magus level. This feature replaces spell recall.
So this feature is not a feature? Spell Recall is the class feature replaced by this one. Or is Spell Recall not a class feature? Or is Hex Magus a class feature...but not considered a class feature for the purposes of Hex feats?
I'm a bit confused. And don't get me started on Oracle/Shamans of Life and Channeling feats.

I understand that you can take hex feats (such as extra hex) if you have hexes. A hexcrafter magus has hexes, and so he can take those feats. Hex magus is a class feature, such as knowledge pool, or sneak attack from the rogue, and such. Spell recall is also a class feature. Mainly because they are written under the "class features" title.

Raw its not legal. The class feature gained by the hexcrafter is called Hex Magus (SU). Hex strike specifically states that the hex class feature, or Hex (SU), is required. If the wording of hex strike instead required the "ability to use hexes" or "the ability to cast hexes" then this would be legal.

Please do. As I said in a related post in advice, I would absolutely allow it in a game I was running, but it's not the same class feature RAW barring a FAQ or clarification that "Hex Magus" counts as "Hex" for feat prerequisites.

Yay! Thanks.
At least I have something from the devs to reference. I don't actually have a PFS magus, but I've been at several tables where they are played and this debate has come up several times.
Ditto for the Oracle and Selective Channel. This is good to have handy.
