Holy Vindicator - Fluff

Advice

Howdy all! I have a fluff question about the HV.

Besides the Stigmata (which is amazing for the fluff and I love), what give the HV it's identity vs a Paladin or a Melee Cleric? That is, since it's a Prestige Class, and I am going to be making a character that's Paladin 5/HV 7, *WHY* would she do that, from a roleplaying perspective? I am trying to get into the right mindset. Why would she choose to be a HV vs continuing the path down of a Paladin? This is what I have so far:
Aasimar (no special bloodlines)
Female
Follower of Iomedae
Lawful Good
Paladin 5 levels (no special Oaths)

The campaign isn't specifically heavy with any specific enemy type. The Aasimar in this setting are current/ex-jailors, so there's that to work with for a reason to be a HV. I will really develop the background once I get a good feeling why someone would be an HV, but I am just not getting my mind around it. Pleasefeel free to insert your opinion here why one would be and HV over continually being a Paladin - I think I have read all of the official fluff, so I guess I am asking for head-canon and ideas.

Muchly appreciated!

Crud - I just noticed this isn't in the "Advice" sub-forum, which I swore I put it in.

Can a mod move this thread please?

From my view, HV are a kind of paladins who shoot first and ask questions later. They are fighters first and foremost, more so than the "holy warrior" that is the paladin. If it's evil, they apply smite until the evil is no longer a problem. They don't do that preachy stuff. They don't do reasoned or even impassioned arguments. Their argument is "apply weapon", and if you still don't agree they apply it again until you either agree or stop disagreeing (probably due to a lack of blood).

So... Warpriests?

Not everything has a fluff niche. Things sometimes only exist for the mechanical. Don't worry about it much.

Hmmmmm.

Ok, I get this. Thanks!

I don't disagree with you, LK - I just desired some fluff. There's a lot of non-combat in the campaign and background, so I wanted to see how it could work, story-wise.

My current character has this, and I find that I enjoy it. The previous 3 were more "just make a character" things and found their personality later.
