idea for play by posts

Website Feedback

i was wondering if it was possible to incorporate into the PBP section the ability to link directly to a previous posting without having to hit reply? Or be able to link directly to a post that is in another posting section all together? an example would be you post your house rules in the discussion pages, but you need to point it out in your in game session.

Can't you already do that with the [ url] tag?

For example to link to the post that you just made in this thread would be:

the ' is just so the bbc code isn't picked up

i didnt know you could do that. i know about posting urls to direct sites, but there isnt an easy to find option for how the url posts on the gamethreads.
when you open the page, it displays like the below
http://paizo.com/campaigns/TheDragonReborn/gameplay&page=39

but the "format your text" cheat sheet doesnt include how youre supposed to link directly to a previous posting.

but i did discover that after your post something it displays your webpage as shown below.
http://paizo.com/campaigns/TheDragonReborn/gameplay&page=39#1946

so in essence, as long as you remember the #xxx, you could create the direct url you are referencing.

If you right-click on the timestamp at the top right of any post, you should get a list of options that includes Copy Link URL. With that, you can direct-link to any post on the boards.

Oh, I have been doing it by hand (reply, copy address, paste) up to now. Nice trick Joana, thanks!
