Emerald Spire Cellars, Bone Dice?

GM Discussion

The Exchange 5/5

Hi,

Does anyone know if the bone dice from the Cellars (Level 2) of Emerald Spire should be on the chronicle sheet? There may be an oversight.

I emailed paizo customer service, but did not receive a reply.

Thanks.

They don't serve a purpose besides flavor, and would also be a very low cost item, so there isn't really a reason for them to be on the chronicle sheet.

Bone dice can be expensive. I bought some a while back in a little hole-in-the-wall shop in my wife's homeland, where we spend time twice a year. Only d6s, but pretty cool, I thought. Being able to literally "roll the bones" was totally worth it.

Hmmm...I thought there was something special about them. Does anyone have the module to confirm? Thx.

The only thing special about them is they're weighted to roll sixes. They're a legal mundane item from the APG, so if you want a pair, that's where you can look.

I assume you are referring to this line

and a pair of six-sided bone dice that have been weighted to always roll sixes.

Sounds like simple weighted dice to me, which range from 10-50gp and wouldn't really be of much use in PFS, but are nonetheless PFS legal.

Ah - I see. Thanks. I was just curious what they were and/or if they had a meta-game component. But, it sounds like they are just in-game for cheating, not that there's anything wrong with that. :D

Yep, the weighted dice Jeff mentioned are the reason I didn't include them on the Chronicle sheet; they were already available for purchase.

In the future, it's probably better to post your questions about organized play concerns on these messageboards rather than contact customer service (who are excellent resources for handling matters of shipping and transaction). Although they can forward the email to me, I can usually spot the inquiry more quickly here. Typically the developer or designer who worked on a product can help in answering a question about a book's contents, and we're happy to help. Even when we don't spot a question, the community can chime in.
