Oracle and Elf favoured class bonus Question.

Rules Questions

Can an elf use its Oracle favoured class bonus to pump a revelation it hasn't yet taken?
.
.
.
Oracle:
Add +1/2 to the oracle's level for the purpose of determining the effects of one revelation.

Without hazarding an opinion (because personally I'd try to balance for the party and setting), let me add a rider question.

Can favoured class bonuses be retrained?

That's a general question and belongs in its own thread.

there are many many many FCB that involve you to start accruing fractional bonuses before you have the class feature effected

Sczarni

You cannot take a FCB for a class feature you do not yet possess.

This includes Rogue Talents, Rage Powers, and Revelations.

It's a little known and seldom applied rule, and most GMs handwave it, but if you play PFS you must wait until you have said class feature.

That's pretty harsh for all those 1/4 and 1/6th ones - and quite a lot of people assume you can accrue those from start

ie: see threads on human warpriests

Scarab Sages

I would say yes, just as you can add fractional bonuses to a monk's ki pool before it gets a ki pool.

Liberty's Edge

Definitive answer already provided..

You can't do that either. You cannot take a FCB that increases a class feature you do not have.

Sczarni

It's also the same for feats.

A Paladin, for example, cannot take "Extra Lay on Hands" at level 1, because they don't get that class feature until later in their career.

So, the rulings are consistent.

In my game yes. By RAE(rules as explained) no:(

Thanks for the link, that's what I thought.
