Advice

A bandit crew (level 12ish)

currently has a cleric, melee fighter, and ranged fighter, and a mess of lower level mooks.

My initial thought is Sound Striker, or Garden Variety Bard. Ideas? Certainly will have Sing or Oratory and Discordant Voice.

I am pretty familiar with the class, but am hoping to have some nasty surprises for the PC's

Too vague. Either of those archetypes would work given the right flavor of bandit crew.

Computer busted, so can't help too much for a bit.

nothing set yet, just seeing if anyone has any unbelievably awesome ideas is all

They're all as good as the next; just depends on what flavor you want. Adventurers and bandits have a lot of similarity; both want to get jumps on the enemies and get the treasure.

Just do a standard bard. It's easier for the DM to keep track of and it probably won't matter much anyway.

I say bring the pain with an arcane duelist in medium armor.

Or, for a different kind of surprise, have a savage skald hang out in the back for 10 rounds then pop in that horn of valhalla. This would require you to somehow make the combat last 10 rounds.

I think OP is the GM, looking for a bard build to make an encounter nastier for his players.
