Am I counting my damage correctly?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So I am currently building a fifth level fighter (dragoon archetype) for mounted combat. I have the following feats and abilities:
Mounted combat, weapon focus (lance), power attack, weapon training (spears), ride by attack, spirited charge, and weapon specialization.
With all these feats, I calculated a 3d8+39 damage with my two handed lance while charging from a mount. Is that correct? I would really appreciate the help.
Also, I have my fifth level feat slot open. Any suggestions for what feat I should take?

You would need to reveal what the character's strength score was as well, FYI

His strength is 21.

I also have one more question. If I were to add a belt of giant strength +2, how would the damage change?

His strength modifier is +5

  • BAB 5 = +5 attack
  • 21 Str = +5 attack, +7 damage
  • Power Attack = -2 Atk, +6 dmg
  • Weapon Training 1 = +1 Atk, +1 dmg
  • Weapon Focus = +1 Atk
  • Weapon Specialization = +2 dmg
  • Charge = +2 Atk
  • Spirited Charge = 3x dmg

No magic weapon?

So, without charging, your attack is 5 (BAB) +5 (Str) -2 (PA) +1 (Weapon Training) +1 (Weapon Focus) = +10

Damage = +7 (Str) +6 (PA) +1 (Weapon Training) +2 (Specialization) = +16

So, charging, you come out to +12 attack for 3d8+48
(Are you counting Power Attack as -1/+3? Remember, you get an additional -1/+3 at every multipe of 4 in your BAB: BAB 4 = -2/+6, BAB 8 = -3/+9, ... BAB 20 = -6/+18)

Adding a +2 Str belt changes the Str line to +6 Atk, +9 dmg = +13 Atk, 3d8+54 dmg (+11 for 1d8+18 when not charging)

Thank you. He has a war lance, which is a +3 lance. Does that mean I add another 3 points of damage to the total before multiplying by three?

Yep most things multiply unless they specifically say they do not.

So you end up with +15 3d8+57 on a charge
