device or spell that causes memory blanks

I am working on a backstory for a character that was a slave and used as a secure interpreter. She was fitted with a device that caused her to forget the conversations that she translated or she had her memory of the event erased via some spell that erases the last 24hrs of memory.

You want a device that replicates Memory Lapse (lose a round), False Alibi (don't let the name fool you, it's just a limited Modify Memory), or Modify Memory. The longest amount of time is 5 minutes though. If it's for an interpreter Memory Lapse is probably best, if it's for something longer term False Alibi is probably best (with the trigger "they finish the thing I want them to forget").

As a player you'd need to ask your GM, as a GM you can just make these things up whole cloth, but if you'd like something to base it on those spells cover it.

Maybe one of the Bestow Curse spells could qualify.

If you want a non-magical option, there is CYTILLESH EXTRACT from the alchemy manual. It removes the previous hour of memories and prevents new one from being made for 8 hours. A device that injected you with that would work quite well.

maybe, its a minor detail in the backstory. I just wanted to find something that my GM could refer to easiliy without having to reinvent it.

In the Occult Adventures Playtest, I seem to remember one of the new classes having an ability like that. It might have been the Mesmerist, I think. If your GM has psychic powers in his world, it could be an option.

I think one of the modules had a sidebar about the long-term effects of this stuff.
