Movie Zombies

I was think last night about adding some movie stly zombies into the next adventure. What do you think of this for the movie zombies and about the CR.

Zombie

CR 1

XP 400
NE Medium undead
Init +0; Senses darkvision 60 ft.; Perception +0

DEFENSE

AC 12, touch 10, flat-footed 12 (+2 natural)
hp 8 (1d8+3) (head shots Only)
Fort +0, Ref +0, Will +3
Immune undead traits, Immune to body damage, Double damage to head

OFFENSE

Spd 30 ft.
Melee slam +4 (1d6+4)+Grab
Bite on Grab +4 1d1 Con damage

STATISTICS

Str 17, Dex 10, Con —, Int —, Wis 10, Cha 10
Base Atk +1; CMB +4(+8 grapple); CMD 14
Feats ToughnessB
Special Qualities staggered

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Grab
If they hit you with a slam they can grapple you. Any round a zombie start with a grapple all attacks are bites for 1d1 con damage. If your con hits 0 you rise as a zombie next round.

Immune to all damage not targeting the head. Sunner to the Head do double damage.

Staggered (Ex)

Zombies have poor reflexes and can only perform a single move action or standard action each round (it has the staggered condition.) A zombie can move up to its speed and attack in the same round as a charge action.

Pathfinder zombies can lose their heads and still attack, yet this has a higher CR than that?

Why can I only attack its head? You're forgetting that all types of creatures of different shape and size other than medium could potentially battle a "movie zombie." Would a colossal monster be limited to only attacking its head?

Lesser movie zombies should move slower.
Also, they are contagious.
Greater movie zombies like Michel move at normal speed or faster.

Grand Lodge

I thought the CR would be higher as unless they pass the DC for the Knolage cheack they will not know about the weakness and it could mess things up for them.

Talking a my friend though off line he made a point that any AOE that would hit the head would also hut him like a fireball. (Mind you the party is curtyly level 1 maby level 2 when they will run into them.)

Abouth the contagios thing that was what I was trying to do with the con damage to turn them into zombies. Do you think it should be a save vs die instead?

In the movies I saw, they have some time to look for a cure, like vs Mummy Rot.

Grand Lodge

Yea that is what I was tring to go for with the con damage. I also like the idea of also turning into something like mummy rot.

How does this sound.

Zombie

CR 1

OFFENSE

Spd 30 ft.
Melee slam +4 (1d6+4)+Grab
Bite on Grab +4 1d1 Con damage and Disease.

STATISTICS

Str 17, Dex 10, Con —, Int —, Wis 10, Cha 10
Base Atk +1; CMB +4(+8 grapple); CMD 14

Special Qualities staggered

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Grab
If they hit you with a slam they can grapple you. Any round a zombie start with a grapple all attacks are bites for 1d1 con damage. If your con hits 0 you rise as a zombie next round.

Disease—Bite; save Fort DC 16; onset 1 minute; frequency 1/day; effect 1d6 Con; cure 2 in a row.
Anyone casting a conjuration (healing) spell on the afflicted creature must succeed on a DC 20 caster level check, or the spell is wasted and the healing has no effect. Anyone who dies from this or con damage from bite rises as a zombie next round.

Immune to all damage not targeting the head. Sunner to the Head do double damage.

Great. Now how do you GM called shots? I prefer, 20 always hits, otherwise -4 to hit a smaller target. The same with staking a vamp with a wooden arrow.

Grand Lodge

Just like with a Hydra it would be a sunder attempt. But I think I would also rule any crit is also a head shot for them.
