Any way to gain immunity to critical hits?

Topic. Any and all books are viable, as our mythic, adding templates, becoming a monster, anything.

I thought I had it with 'servant of balance' mythic power, but re-reading it only protects from extra damage, not from the 'critical hit.'

I'm in a mythic game where anything goes, and we're hitting mythic tier ten. As the 'immortal' power says, "At 10th tier, you can be killed only by a coup de grace or critical hit made with an artifact." I'm trying to eliminate the critical hit part of that, but not sure how. Ideas?

Scarab Sages

This spell does the job.

As it turns out, immunity to critical hits also renders you immune to coup de grace attempts.

Coup de grace:

Ice Body spell. Arcane, level 7.

There are a few more spells that also do this, at higher level. And maybe one or two that I've missed.

20 levels of apparition bloodline sorcerer or bloodrager does the trick.

Liberty's Edge

Elemental Body III

School transmutation (polymorph); Level sorcerer/wizard 6

This spell functions as elemental body II, except that it also allows you to assume the form of a Large air, earth, fire, or water elemental. The abilities you gain depend upon the type of elemental into which you change. You are also immune to bleed damage, critical hits, and sneak attacks while in elemental form.

Scarab Sages

Fortification armor can do it 75% of the time.

Jingasa of the Fortunate Soldier
not immunity, but it will save you from that ONE crit that is gonna wreck your shop

There's a feat (I think it's called Fortified Armor Training, but I could have the name wrong) that allows you to cause your armor or shield to break in return for turning a critical hit into a normal hit.

So, if you're capable of carrying a "change of armor" or something, so you can afford its breakage, that feat is one way.

Not quite immunity, but a paladin with the Warrior of Holy Light archetype, gains 50% immunity to critical hits at level 20, when invoking her aura of holy light. That protection extends to allies within 60' of her, too.

One of the mythic tier's allows you to expend a mythic point to change a critical hit into a normal hit. Guardian I think.

Shadow Lodge

The Lore Warden class feature Hair's Breath at 11th level allows you a an acrobatics roll to negate a crit comfirm roll.

Wow, a lot more spells than I realized. I really need to play a caster one of these days to better learn the spells. Fiery body will work nicely for my needs with those sweet abilities. Thanks!

The level 1 spell Windy Escape grants you immunity from one critical hit (and poison to boot!). Well, it turns it into a normal hit, but still not a crit. It's normally reserved for Sylphs, but most GMs can be convinced if you make an in character effort to research it.

Sovereign Court

Many bloodlines and mysteries peak ability level 20 gives immunity to critical hits as well.

Dark Archive

The bloodline power version is the best option as it cannot be negated by a dispel magic (followed by a CDG against your unconscious body)

One that is not often realized is Energy Body from the Life Oracle. They can get crit immunity (and all elemental traits) for rounds/level starting at level 1.

Yes, the boreal and elemental bloodlines give this immunity at 20th level. The wording of the impossible bloodline implies that it would not protect the character from having a critical hit/coup de grace scored against them, it just stops additional damage from being dealt, so that wouldn't work. Dark tapestry oracles would work.

20th level elemental, aberrant or black blood bloodrager

16th level destined bloodrager gets critted only on confirmation roll of 20

Shadow Lodge

The Bracelet of Second Chances will probably do a better job than the Jingasa for what you're after. Keep a few of them.

Dark Archive

If it's for level 20 then Celestial Obedience(Ylimancha) is my favourite as it gives flight as well.

9 levels of Samurai lets you use the resolve ability to turn critical hits into regular ones. 5 times per day if you save it exclusively for Crit-countering.

Though not the easiest thing to work into an existing build

Immunity to critical hits with high levels and mythic? I can think of a few :) neat idea btw
The dwarf stonelord paladin has 13 immunities (some really minor) including critical hits.
Alchemists that take mythic brew potion can make any spell they cast into a potion, then use eternal potion on it. Say hello to Sparky, the flaming fire elemental goblin!
The eternal template could be another way do do something similar :)

Mythic racial heritage might be a way, too. If some humanoid race with crit immunity exists, that is. But it might be worth a look.
If not using it to get rock troll regeneration in addition to your crit immunity from other sources might be neat.

Normal troll regeneration works, too but rock troll regeneration isn't shut off by fire.

Edit: The Lava Child 3pp race is humanoid with the elemental traits which include crit immunity in addition to a lot of other nice things.

The bracelet expends its charges when used. At 15,750gps that comes to 2250gps for a single negation of a crit. And once you use all 7, then it's gone and you need to buy another one.

If you have the head slot free you can pay 15,000gps for 3 Jingasa that not only gives you 1 crit negation per day each, but a +1 luck bonus on AC as well.

So if you anticipate suffering more than 3 crits a day, then the bracelet might be worth it. Otherwise you can save money with the helmets. Or just nab a helmet or two and use the bracelet as a backup depending on available slots and coin.

Was going to say this. It's outright immunity, with no strings attached like with incorporeal (ghost touch).

Other options include getting the swarm subtype, or becoming a Worm that Walks.

Alchemists can get up to 75% immunity through discoveries, though I´m not quite sure it applies to coup de grace.

I can definitely imagine the fun of someone trying and trying and trying to just cut..off...your...damned...HEAD!

Scarab Sages

Cave Druid using wildshape to turn into an ooze.

Alchemists have preserve organs that can be taken 3x to give 75% immunity. This doesn't stack with equipment that does the same thing.

Become a plant?

Sczarni

Wildshape via Druid to become Elemental, Plant, or Ooze.(Immune)
Similar to Wildshape - Plant Form, Elemental Form.
Fortifying armor enchantment.(25%, 50%, and 75% chance of negating crits)
Jingasa of the Fortunate Soldier.(negate one crit per day)
Having an AC so high they can't confirm without a second Nat 20.(good luck)

That's all I can think of.
