Gyro will fight. Or Gyro work. But either is good. Fighting and killing helps with work. Also Gyro gets collection stuff to add. Gyro likes his collection. Now out of my way. Gyro not like standing still like this... unless gyro is working... then gyro still for a long time. Till im happy that gyro weapon is good and proper!

I'm gonna bow out for the moment, I've been accepted into some other PbP, so I'll let others enjoy this one.

I've decided to withraw my interest as well. Hope you guys find a good fit and enjoy your game!

Tyeal, I'm afraid I have to say that I'm pretty leery of the Warder class; I don't own the book (which means I don't have any good idea of what the maneuvers are), but looking it over on d20pfsrd.com it seems pretty potent. It has a paladin's BAB and saves, but d12 HD and what looks like a more robust array of abilities, at least at early levels. So unless you can make a very convincing argument, I'm going to have to suggest that you pursue some other class. I do like the story--perhaps a paladin of Abadar (or just a fighter)?

We'll keep recruitment open a little longer--I'll announce our choice (or possibly choices) on Monday night or so.

Thanks for your interest!

Fair enough. Figured it was worth a try. I'll change him to a Paladin, since I rarely get to play those. And will go with Abadar, since there's a church to him in Korvosa.

Sorry to hear that, Dorri and Dal. Good luck!

Tyeal, hope to see the stat block soon!

Certainly! Posting my revised sheet now.

Diamon 'Silverhand' Erlatt, Stonelord of Abadar

Nice!

Mah justice? Who says it goes along with mah deity? Justice is based out ov experience, years and years of folks offerin' their wisdom, in th' hope that we can learn from 'em. The sane, the mad, the devout, and the heretical. Mah 'justice' is what I believe is deserv'd. And ah can only hope that I sentence the guilty, those deserv'n a punishment, and not an innocent.

"And what if you misbelieve, or are misled? What if you punish one more innocent than you'd wish ...for none are truly innocent, don't you know?"

Well, you can debate with Teodor. Seems like you'll be a natural fit. But, that's not my call. It's Norv's. Also, Diamon, the alias you have is a PFS alias.

And here he is again, in non-PFS form! (Only just now learned how to make different aliases...)

Teodor Niculescu wrote:

Ah do believe that folks're innocent until prooven otherwise. If'n I started thinkin' that ev'ry face I saw was guilty, I'd drive myself mad trying to 'judge' 'em. And I'd be doin' Abadar wrong for thinkin' that way as well.

As far bein' misled, or lied to? It's possible, much as ah don't like t' admit it. Gods only know I try my damnedest to remain a neutral party in arguments and debates. But, sometimes, my feelins do creep into mah judgment of folks. I don't, nor can't, claim t' be completely neutral. I simply try mah best to be just that. But I'll be damned if it ain't difficult t' do.

I'm withdrawing. I was accepted into another game, so I'll give someone else a chance to get into this one. Have fun, guys!

Thank you to everyone who came out--Diamon will be joining our group! I enjoyed reading everyone's submissions. :)

Appearance:

A tall stocky redhead with freckles and glasses, Moshu has typically ginger looks. He also sports a chinstrap beard. If it were not for his eccentric attitude and the shortness of his beard he could be easily be mistaken for a rather short Dwarf. He often can be seen sporting a bandier and a spell component pouch. He also carries with him everywhere his quarterstaff.

Personality:

Moshu is a Gnome of a reasonably Gnomish persuasion. He is eccentric highly impulsive and obsessed with creating and magic. He can often be seen pacing in his workshop talking to himself about one or another project he is working on. Although he can rarely sustain it for long he is capable of concentrating slightly more that your average Gnome. However his resounding passions can allow him to stretch the physical and mental capabilities to far beyond that of a normal Gnome. He will go out of his way to find or discover a new spell and will sometimes stay up for weeks on end working on or creating some magical item.

Character Backstory:

Born to a family of magically powerful Gnomes, seeking to restore the their families prestige. His family moved to Korvosa generations ago in the attempt to join the acadamae. They were repeatedly rejected over the generations because of their families bad reputation. The family prestige lost many centuries earlier by a couple of generations rather powerful and unruly Sorcerers. However in the last generation slight progress was made as Moshu's father while not gaining acceptance into the acadamae did gain acceptance in to Anomanexus College. Graduating at the top of his class Moshu's father became a relatively relevant and respected Wizard. So well respected that when it became Moshu's turn to try out for the Acadamae his families wishes finally came true and he was able to attend.

One dark and stormy night in fourth year in the Acadamae Moshu and his friends decided to go out to a local pub, to celebrate having passed one of the most gruesome exams they had ever taken. At this bar Moshu met up with Lilandra, a young woman of the night, he had been seeing for some time and they left for the Inn around the corner. On their way to the Inn they turned down a dark ally, when all of a sudden their was a blast of fire. Looking around to see what had just he sees Lilandra on the ground with a grievous wound to her abdomen. Kneeling down to see what he can do, he checks her pulse. Finding that she is dead and knowing not what to do looks down the ally, to where the blast came from spots a creepy man slip around the corner. So drunk as he is and consumed by righteous fury he chases after the man. He runs right around the corner and straight into the city guard. He tries to explain himself but is hauled off to prison anyway.

Moshu was then charged with the murder of the Lilandra. Having been found running from the scene of the crime and the guards not seeing the man in the ally way. Not to mention the fact that she was killed by magical means. All the evidence pointed to his guilt and that this was an open and shut case. The public having already made up its mind about his guilt, shuns him and calls for his immediate execution. His alleged transgression was punished by the Acadamae, accusing him of using their teaching for evil and nefarious purposes. His punishment was his unconditional expulsion from the Acadamae. This shattered his families dreams of having a member graduate from the Acadamae.

The tide again shifted when witness comes forward claiming that it was not Moshu but rather Gedran Lamm who had killed Lilandra. That her name was not really Lilandra, but Liana and she was one of the children Gedran had kidnapped. And that Lilandra after running away, had become a prostitute. Gedran angry for Lilandra running away, had taken his revenge. Following this revelation it was confirmed due to the type of magical attack and the angle at which it was performed that the assailant could not have been Moshu.

Even though he was formally pardoned the stigma of the charge has not left him. He was allowed to re-enroll in the Academae and his
family name is even more tarnished than ever.

After being expelled, exonerated, and turned out by his parents Moshu wandered aimlessly taking work as a magic user in various caravans. He did this for many years wandering aimlessly seeking to fill the hole in his life to undo what went wrong that fateful night. Finding his only comforts to be the brothel, the bottle, or the occasional new spell. While wondering with the caravan it inevitable came to his advantage to learn to fight. So on one particular trip he shacked up with a human fighter by the name of Felicia and in turn for a few charms and enchanting her weapons she gave him companionship. But alas she was not interest in a long term relationship, at least not with depressed gnome. So when the caravan reached its destination the two went their separate ways. As time went he realized he could make a lot of money crafting magical weapons and items not only for the mercenaries he traveled but the merchants too. Eventually he learned that his true calling was crafting magical items and he made that this his full time career.

While traveling with a caravan peddling his magical wares Moshu realized he should return to his home town and rebuild his family name while filling his passion, crafting magical items. Upon doing this having been turned out of his families house he shacked up with a Half-Elf shopkeeper, named Dena.

Hello, all! We are in need of a couple more players, one of which would be more of a frontline fighter. We have three characters. Korriban, the rogue and dexterity fighter; Lantressa, tiefling sorceress; and Teodor, cleric of Groteus.

Here are the following requirements:

Level We're currently 5th level.

The Norv wrote:

Ability Scores 20-point buy.

Race and Class I will consider anything published by Paizo (and, in the case of race, with a reasonable RP--no Drow Nobility, please). However, if you choose an obscure race or class, I must ask for a good backstory to support it. If you're playing a ninja or a samurai, how did you get this training? Or, if you're a native of Tian Xia, how did you end up in Korvosa? If you're playing a human ethnicity, please provide as many details as you can--eg. Shoanti Quah, relative rank in Chelaxian nobility, etc.
Alignment Any non-evil.
HP Max at first level.
In addition, at each level after first, add half die + 1 + Con to your hit points.
Traits Two traits

Gold and Gear Use Character Wealth by Level for fifth level. This may change based on Norv's input. Also, if you want to purchase property (per Guide to Korvosa) and have the means to do so, you can.

I've been looking to rock a front liner for a while. I'll get something up in a couple of hours.

He has since befriended Brimhuldir, a northern wolf. The two have traveled the land, learning more about the rest of the world, and considering what he could bring back to improve his home country.
His journeys have led him to Varisia, down through Kaer Maga and into Korvosa as he continued on his way south through to Andoran. No, we haven't been using the combat stamina rules.

Rhal, I could see the party needing a more support type of character or a ranged character. I'll share this thread with our GM.

Rungok, nice build!

I'll share this thread with our GM so he can add anything that I missed.

I would be interested. I have been playing Arthas in our other game. I could update this character to 5th. This character is from a game that died, but he is well established in my head and rough around the edges enough for a Crimson Throne game.

How about a ranger/rogue hybrid?

It gives the party a fighter with a ranged ability and rogue utility.

Sounds good, Karl! I do provide the more rogue utility of the group, but having someone who can add to that would be nice.

Would a paladin mesh with how your group tends to do things?

Hi Korriban!

Chess here. I'd like to submit Gadoongo for this game - finishing his backstory and soon will add to the profile. He's a frontline beast, basically :) He lost his wife to the alleys of Korvosa a long time ago and sought revenge, and once he followed your (the party) trail, he found out Lamm had died already, but something more sinister needed his attention. Although his appearance is grotesque, he's good hearted and loyal. And he can even do some weak offhealing if needed ;)

Interested, Will adjust the character to 5th level soon

Burnscar wrote:

A paladin should work out fine with our group. We had another paladin a while back when we were still in book 1. Our group is currently made up of two CN characters and a CG character.

Gadoongo, that is a really cool build! Would be interested in having a skinwalker in a game. Never played with one before.

Can't wait to see what it looks like, Alistair!

I've been wanting to play a Ranger of the Sable Company Marine Archetype in this AP. Would an archery-focused, Hippogriff-riding Ranger fit in with your group? If so, I'll definitely submit. If not, I'll see if anything else strikes my fancy.

Sounds interesting, Ouachitonian. Feel free to submit it.

I'm a tank. No frills. Ready for 3rd.

Thanks, Korriban. I added a small background and a little more meat to the profile. :)

Are guns allowed in the game?

Would you allow an aasimar paladin of Shelyn who is secretly the true heir of the Crimson Throne and the out of wedlock daughter of the dead king? She doesn't know she's the king's daughter actually.

I would love to throw Edgerson it your game. I will update him tomorrow

Here's Czolgosz, pronounced shoal-gosh. If there's more specific campaign info to work into my background I'm happy to do it!

Gadoongo, I read over that small background and it looks good!

Rhal, guns are allowed in this game as far as I know. We had a musket cavalier when this game started.

SCKnightHero1, an aasimar paladin of Shelyn would be fine. As for that backstory, that would be the decision of our gm.

Edgerson, I can't wait to see it.

CircadianRythms, thank you for throwing your hat in!

There is something I'd like to bring up. Just so everyone knows, by this point in our game, Lamm has been killed already. We are about midway through book 2.

Sovereign Court

Hello, I was asked to drop in here via PM.

I previously played an urban druid named Orson Callevarno in a Curse game that fell apart during the first encounter. I don't think this is the kind of front-line fighter you're looking for, but someone thought I should come here anyway.

I've not played through book 1, as the original game this character was in petered out before we could, so I'd have to catch up on the story.

Hello, Jesse. I was the one who sent you the message. I thought to ask you because you were interested in a CotCT game and I'm not entirely sure how many players we were going to pick. I know that we need a frontline fighter. But if our GM wants to recruit another player to add more to the group, then I feel like there should be some options and I wanted to give any players interested a chance.

Just turn into a bear or T-rex or something. Boom! Frontliner.

Sovereign Court

Ok - this character was built as a combo face/support healer with marginal melee abilities.

I have a couple of unused characters that I could rebuild for this game as well, though you seem to have some really great submissions already :)

Sovereign Court

Oh, I should note, I rebuilt Orson for a Runelords game that he didn't get into after the original Curse game crashed, which is why the campaign traits and background are set up for that. In his original incarnation in Curse he had the Framed campaign trait.

Was invited to have a look, so im dotting for now. by tomorrow evening i may have a character out :)

I will update my half orc alchemist to 3rd level tonight.

I'm not entirely sure. That would be up to our GM.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Hi all! GM here. Korriban, thanks for taking point on rebooting this thread. :)

I haven't had the time to read over all the submissions, so far, but let me try to answer questions that I can:

--Let's set a tentative deadline of 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturday, September 24. We're looking for 2, at most 3, characters, so I feel that should be sufficient given the current rate of submissions.

--Guns are fine.

--Paladins and other lawful/good alignments are fine...evil might be a tough sell in this game, but just about anything else will work. (Fair warning: our current characters are 2x CN and one CG.)

...Think I hit every major question? Let me know if I missed any!

Oh!

The Most Important Thing:

To be honest, the thing that's going to be biggest in this selection process is finding people with characters we feel will mesh well AND players that we are confident will be committed to the game for the long haul. I started this game with six players and of the originals, only 2 remain...and there are four others who have joined late and dropped out at various points along the way. I'm not a huge stickler for posting every day or anything like that--and I totally get that life happens, so if people need to take breaks I'm more than happy to bot them to keep things moving along!--but if you have a habit of disappearing unexpectedly from games it will be a definite strike against you.

Sorry if that seems overly aggressive. :P I'm not normally like that, but at this point...we have so many loose ends from vanished PCs that it can be a little bit grinding to keep losing them!

Edgerson is close to being finished.
