My PC played that module a few weeks ago. The succubus escaped, but Zadendi was captured. The module mentions she can be redeemed. But apparently she had embraced Shax cult and became Chaotic Evil. I think having her changing sides is an interesting development. But if she doesn't want to atone, how can the players do it?

I usually require good roleplay, a successful Diplomacy check based on the prospect, and their background. Zadendi was screwed up by the succubus, so any real attempt would probably take awhile to break down the conditioning placed upon her. Sense Motive would work to find out how likely the person would be to change their outlook on life. In short, not many bad guys are willing to convert. You might take a look at the player's guide for Wrath of the Righteous - they talk a bit about redeeming bad guys there.

Well, first of all, the process is a long process. It's certainly beyond the scope of one module.
That said, if, (say) you're just incorporating DotSS into a home game- -Champions of Purity also has a guide to redemption.
