Growing Creature Occupying Other Creature's Space

Rules Questions

Say a player is being flanked on 4 sides, and has Enlarge Person cast on him. What happens to the allocation of occupied space? I can’t find any rules on this, and the only thing in the spell’s description is

Enlarge Person wrote:
If insufficient room is available for the desired growth, the creature attains the maximum possible size and may make a Strength check (using its increased Strength) to burst any enclosures in the process. If it fails, it is constrained without harm by the materials enclosing it—the spell cannot be used to crush a creature by increasing its size.

Does this mean that the spell can’t be used in this case? Even if that’s not the intention?

Dark Archive

The opponents flanking the character would cease to be in legal spaces and would be forced to the nearest legal space (typically one space backward).

EDIT: Alternatively the enlarged player could squeeze to stay in the space he's in. Really would be GM's call which of these two things would happen depending on the circumstances.

It's not covered in the rules. There is no RAW answer.
