I have this idea about an adventure where the PCs wake up to find they have had their souls bound to dolls. They would have the base starting stats of - Str 7, Dex 14, Con —, Int 11, Wis 10, Cha 9 - and they would get to spend some amount of stat points to increase them to match the character class they chose. Their goal would be to find out what happened to them and find a way to get their original lives. They would face many challenges socially, as walking, talking dolls tend to creep people out. Would this be something that could be a fun long running campaign, or would the social interaction difficulties make it too hard to have good immersion?
Hit dice would be reduced to Class hit dice. Would also need good aligned spell-like abilities to fill in the other 3 alignments

I am not sure I could get any of our group on it though. It would be definitely difficult, as melee combat, items usable and social interaction would be extra hard. I would probably have the physical stats stay where they are on the block, then give them three number to shuffle around the mental stats, like 17,15,13. Random starting doll form would be something as well, like bear, human doll, pony, dragon, goblin. The pink pony barbarian soulbound doll may be the most terrifying. May have to write up some plot ideas and story progressions at some point. Still in the raw stages

Do an all call. tell your group you are starting a campaign where irretrievable lost characters can be brought back. A new version of the ritual lets someone create a toy, possibly made of fabric, powered by a soul fragment of someone who failed to return from a mission. Their memories are partial at best, so after a terse interview, the toys were all sold to an important person to be given to their child.
I lost a character in Living Keoland. If this game was taking place near me, I would jump at the chance. I'm sure everyone who's been playing a while would also like to play a lost character.
