TL;DR I made an oread monk, but I can't change it back now. Link to the build
So when I made my character, I spent a bunch of time making the build. Only after my second adventure did it occur to me that ARG races might not be legal. I looked it up and didn't understand what it said. "That's ridiculous! I thought. How can I unlock the race for my character on a chronicle sheet without playing that character in the adventure that unlocks it" (turns out, you unlock the race with a different character, then play it with your new one).
I now have an illegal character, but it would be even more illegal for me to rebuild it!
What can I do peoples?

First off, Whoops.
Second, I see 3 options.
1: Shelf the character for now. Once you get the race boon (or if the higher ups ever open up oread for regular play) take the monk back down and resume fun with it.
2: You are not level 2 yet, so rebuild away. Just inform your GM as they seem to have missed this. Remember to check the AR for future characters.
3: Toss the character. Not a fun option, but hey, if you do not like the other 2...
Have fun

I dont understand this part. I've never heard of an adventure that gives you a race boon.

Yeah, I think the OP is mistaken (although there has been at least one instance of unlocking a race by playing (and winning) a special event). Nowadays most (all?) race boons are GM boons, so if you want to get hold of one, either GM or trade for it!

There aren't any. Race boons are given as table prizes at conventions, save for the ultra rare unique ones which are sold at charity auctions i.e. gobin, android, etc.

There is one.

While OP can readily change his character if he's only level one, I would posit this if he were level 2 or above. Treat the illegal parts of your character as though they had just been deemed illegal for society play, change only what you need to to make your character legal. In this case remove the race the race, losing any bonus feats, racial traits and ability bonuses granted, then apply a new race.
