@Mbando
Did you run the installer with Admin privedges?

I had the pathcher failing because I did not run the installer with admin privedges.
After re-installing the game with the installer "Run as Admin" option the patcher is working fine.

Goblin Squad Member

Mbando,

Towers buged, not showing counter or capture points.

Goblin Squad Member

After reinstall of 9.1, patcher ran-hung up a bit and then got a message that it quit working (at about 75%). Second run patched up to 75% fast, then slowed down but finished.

In game now.

Same here - created a company, standing next to tower and nothing. I also don't see any companies in the "search companies" window, not even mine.

Towers appear to be bugged.

Finding Companies...

That works if (in that window) you enter part of a company's name and search.

I would like to figure out if I apply, does the leader "accept" and I am in?

CEO, Goblinworks

You have to do a search before you'll see the companies. Click in the search control and hit enter.

There's a problem with the Tower capturing mechanic. We're trying to determine the source and we'll get it fixed asap.

Goblin Squad Member

Hehe. Can't expect everything to go smooth like magic. :)

How do you manage companies and settlements in-game?

The Tower capture mechanics seem heavily weighted towards the capturing companies. 1000 pts / (30 pts/5 seconds) is 167 seconds IF you have 30 folks in the control zone the whole time, and with a single character it is 5000 seconds (83 minutes 20 seconds) - but the # of points does not get reduced unless there are ZERO characters from that company in the control zone...

About a third of the blog discusses that.

The link to the blog: sorry, too much to paste and format.

Being invited to a company that is dissolved locks you into that invite,
you cannot decline or accept it, you get the "you do not have a pending company invite" error
nor can you be invited to another new company, because when invited, the inviting company leader receives the " <name> is viewing a different invite" error

Goblin Squad Member

We're having a problem populating our company. Send out invites, use /vcaccept, and if you send a 2d notice, I get "So-and-so is already a member," but in /companysearch for the company I am the only member.

Goblin Squad Member

I was able to populate my /companysearch by logging restarting the ckient (logging didn't work).

Also, hope soon we can get ability to promote people into leadership.

1. Well done. This is huge.

2. Good lesson here for some of the people who have been unfairly sour and negative. At the very least, some of the folks here weren't even close to "reasonably patient." GW has been super upfront about the process, and each patch has been a steady climb up. I see no reason to be anything other than very heartened.

Well said.

+1 to this bug, I'm having the exact same problem with one of my characters.

Also a command that did not get mentioned in the blog:

/vcleave (to leave a company).

When you do get an invite and you do /vcaccept, then neither you nor the inviter gets a notification. You have to refresh the COmpany window, and then you will see the name appear under members.

I also had odd stuff happening to the little sword icon at your minimap: it was there for one of my characters that were standing at the tower, but not the other two. (It was 5 minutes earlier though). Also, the popup of the icon did not mention any company acquiring points but I am thinking this is the problem Ryan was referring to.

Thanks for the update!

Goblin Squad Member

I am not able to get the company window to list Companies anymore with the search field. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Goblin Squad Member

Yes, it is empty for me as well

Goblin Squad Member

I'm fairly sure the server is having a bit of a stroke. All of Iron Gauntlet right now is broken as well.

I couldn't get the patcher to work for me on the last two updates. I ran as admin and it gave me an error (patched has failed) each time I ran it. If I delete and redownload it works fine until the next update.

LOL. Didn't take you guys long to run out there, huh?

Goblin Squad Member

Avari,

Nothing wrong with paying the neighbors a friendly vist, eh? :)

Goblin Squad Member

Not seeing a recent topic for this in the Alpha Forum. Log in to find myself mysteriously 6 hexes south of OV. So I suck it up and run for home. I get within 1 hex and go to the sky. and wind up MANY hexes south in Marchmont.

This must be pretty frustrating for new people trying the game out. Is there a fix in the works?

Edit: Hmmm.... complete patcher restart got me mysteriously within 1 hex of OV again. Here goes....

Home!

I actually was just visiting! I think I left all my stuff in their bank. Either that, or the patch ate all of my stuff.

Napoleon was just a tourist! ;)

Banks are not safe places, yo.

Goblin Squad Member

Looks like complete patcher restart helps this in some cases. Don't move around too much before you try that option.

I didn't realize we were declaring. OV has two that I know of, and we're working on a third.

Have you tried logging another character to create a company with the same name, then seeing if you can kick them or leave?

Aragon had secured its alpha six, in spite of T7V trying to interfere with our efforts. It was a good deal of fun though and we quickly learned that having multiple companies hinders tower capture.

Only until limits are in place to make it less desirable for one company to hold all the towers, bludd.

Whew! Just a Company named The Wolves.

For a second, I thought you meant the mind-controlling wolves and their enthralled Thornguards had occupied a tower!

Goblin Squad Member

Lol that's what I thought, too.

Had to look really closely at that picture lol

Apparently not all cases.

Apparently not all cases.

I ported from near Alderwag to near Kindleburn.

I Quit, Waited, and Restarted, but I was still near Kindleburn.

I ran to Thornkeep, then ran to a hex between Ossian's Crossing and Freevale.

I ported back to the Kindleburn area again.

I Quit, Waited 2 minutes, and Restarted, and I was back in the Ossian's/Freevale hex again.

Right. Only in some cases and sometimes. I got moved to Kindleburn today too. Nothing but jogging would fix it. ;)

I had the teleport issue today as well. I redownloaded everything yesterday and saw myself in one of the starting towns. I closed out. I came back today and was at a shrine in the north part of the map, north of Blackfeather Keep.

I read through the blog on the Settlement UI but I am not seeing it on my screen. Likely I'm blind. Any tips on its whereabouts are greatly appreciated :)

You can only open the UI via a keyboard command, /companysearch. Once it's open, you can either left click once in the Search Companies text box, type nothing, and hit Enter, to see a list of all companies created before the last server downtime, or type part of a company name in the box to search for that company. Left click the company in the list to see it in the right-hand column.

Goblin Squad Member

Thanks, Karlbob. That worked. Is this the same place a Settlement manager would find the UI they need?

You're welcome.

Yes, according to the blog, Company and Settlement management will both use this UI (for now, anyway).

Goblin Squad Member

Hmmm, okay. I don't see anything for Settlement. Thanks again for your help.

I think some Settlement actions, like pledging a Company to a Settlement becoming a Settlement leader, are actually being done through direct email to GW.

Edit: Here's the relevant quote.

Goblinworks Blog wrote:

Settlement Management

/settlementapply settlementname, companyname
This command will send an application to Settlement settlementname on behalf of Company companyname. The Settlement leader will need to review these applications on the Alliance tab of the Settlement information panel that opens when the name of a Company in the Settlement is clicked in the Company search control. No notifications are delivered of these applications so the Settlement leader will need to check this queue regularly.
Becoming a Settlement leader requires a manual step performed by the Goblinworks staff as described earlier in this blog.

That's what I'm gathering from reading and listening to others. I sent an email to set myself up as the Settlement manager for Keeper's Pass and was checking to see what I would see in game. At the moment I can search for companies and look at some tabs for them but nothing as far as Settlement info goes. Figured I would ask around first before bugging customer service.

It sounds like they may not have processed your request yet. I'd give them a couple of days before contacting Customer Service.

Goblin Squad Member

Yeah, I'll keep checking each day and see if it goes through.
