So while this is inspired by my own recent joyous occasion, I wanted to create a thread for we gamers who are new parents (grand or otherwise) or are returning to the arena with another new child!
Post anything you'd like about your recently released spawn or pending precocious apprentice!
Unless I get NINJA'D, a very real possibility on these boards, I'll start us off (see below)!
God bless each and every one of you, parent (grand or otherwise) or no: grace, peace, and joy to you!

My son was just born!
2 lbs., 7 oz.
15 inches
Expected in December, when my wife went in for a routine visit to her doctor, boy was SHE in for a surprise!
Strange symptoms sent her to the hospital with an immediacy that surprised everyone.
The rest of the time was as follows:
- welcome and wait for a while, as we're busy, and get bored
- oh, hi, we can see you now, just relax and everything'll probably beoholycarp we got get you with <X> right now!
- repeat
Six room changes, four plan-changes, three child-transfers, two hospitals, and loooooooooots of tests later, our son - expected December 6th - was instead delivered in relative high health (for a preemy!) and we're super glad he's here!
Names changed to protect the innocent, but Baby Tacticslion Jr. The Second was born today! And his Mommy is doing really well!
Tomorrow he (hopefully) gets to meet Tacticslion Jr. The First (brought in by GrindiddyTacticslion and GrammyTacticslion)! Woo!
I wonder what stats he'll be! What class! Will he go Celestial like his daddy? Mythic? Only time will tell! But for now, I got a pretty feisty and extremely beautiful kid!

Good luck & congrats fellow. I myself came early (and ruined a vacation in the process) though not premature. I've been a early person ever since... so he's going to be early like EVERYWHERE!
Now all that's missing is this for a month or 2 from now.

Maybe Baby Tacticslion Jr. The Second envied Kirthling Cora The Conqueror being already here?

Oh, man, that's so great, you guys!
Congratulations, all!
(I was born 12 years after my youngest sibling: when she went in to figure out why she was being sick each day, the doctor, after examining her, told my mom, "Mrs. <Redacted>, you're old enough to know what's 'wrong' with you!" My parents proceeded to shock and amazement. :D)

RPG Children seem to have penchant for coming earlier. Aeglos's dwarfling was early too, as far as I remember...
Well, that's easy enough to understand.
"I keep hearing all these amazing stories that mommy and daddy's characters are going through, but they sound like they're in danger a lot! I need to hurry up and be born so I can make a Paladin to protect mommy and daddy's characters!"
Or thereabouts. ^^

Speak for yourself. I was a month early. Apparently I didn't like it, so I've been late ever since. :)
That said, I shall add my Congratulations as well, Tactics.
As long as the NICU isn't too far away, it's not so bad. I had to drive three hours for a while, while my better half stayed there. It wasn't so bad, but it did get old fast.

Baby is tiny and amazingly beautiful! I'm likely getting discharged from the hospital today, but please keep Tac and I and baby in your thoughts/prayers as these next few NICU weeks will be a tough time. Thanks for all the support and well-wishes! :)
You must be Mrs. Tacticslion! : )
Congratulations! I'm sending good thoughts to your family unit.
Perhaps it was the sound of dice rolling and laughter that made the little tyke come out early to see what was going on. : )

Advise from a sixteen year old with two younger sisters:
Lock away anything remotely damageable
Cover everything in waterproof plastic
Stock up on disney things
Buy a gasmask
Stock up on diapers
My two sisters do not live with me at the moment, but I practically had to raise one of them. Now I mostly only care about them before they start getting into my stuff. Get into my stuff and so help me god I don't care whos kid you are, I am sending you to the nearest orphanage by UPS truck.

My oldest is almost ready to swim on her own, allowing her mother and I to convert her room to RPG storage.
"So college next yeah eh? Not to put any pressure on you honey, but your mom and I have plans for your room..."
[edit] Oh, and I realise I never congratulated the parents properly, so congrats to Tacticlion and Lady Firedove!
Having a kid in neo-natal isn't easy, but your child is in as good care as you can wish to be. Make sure to give us news when you guys are all under the same roof.
Speaking from experience, keep a budget for (small) treats to buy on the way, if you can afford it. That's going to be a lot of commuting which can become a chore (which you don't want "seeing your baby" to become). A little something for yourself, your better half or the nurse at the hospital can go a long way keeping this joyful.

Greetings, all!
Thank you for all the kind comments and well wishes!
Baby is doing quite well!
He was in the NICU well over a month, but we have been home since Thanksgiving.
He's up over six pounds now, from a birth weight of two-and-a-half.
We're still not sleeping enough, but life resembles something kind of like normal now, at least more than it has.
Sweet three-year-old big brother seems to be recovering from his bronchitis.
I've been back to work (tough!) for a couple weeks, but am now on Christmas break.
Merry Christmas to all! :)
