So, your heroes have defeated the final villain of the campaign and liberated Korvosa. What did your heroes decide to do with the city afterwards? Who took what office? I'm curious.

Too bad there are no reactions to this thread. I'm still playing this campaign and I'm definitely planning some "continuing the campaign" stuff. I already discussed some of my ideas in this thread. Lately I've also been considering a follow-up adventure about the Rise of Runelord Sorshen.

So any nice post-campaign stories or experiences would certainly be welcome.

My group had an end of campaign party and I wrapped everything up with a power point presentation that gave the PC's and the NPC's closure. There was significant emotional investment in the story, PC and NPC.

PC'S
Amelizia, elderly Urban Druid - Married Vencarlo and was selected as the Kingdom's Ambassador to the People and tasked to oversee the reconstruction of the city.

Bhadi - Oracle of Desna - Last seen at the Temple of the Moon living the dream.

Dogkiller - 1/2 Orc Shoanti Barbarian - Married Krozan and had twins named Thunder and Fang. Works as an ambassador of peace between the tribes and Korvosa.

Markus wearbear (deck of many things) monk- Converted the Hospice of the Blessed Maiden into a dojo for the cities orphans and uses the area underneath for shadowy business.

Othello - Bard - Became the toast of the city when his opera masterpiece "Curse of the Crimson Throne" premiered. Rumored to be the secret lover of the new monarch.

Olorin - Wizard - Realizes his goal of raising his minor house to the status of Noble house is selected to the Council of Nobles.

Tobry and Serenthial - Charged to establish an order of knights to guard against other evils which may dwell in the catacombs beneath Castle Korvosa. He disappears shortly after the new monarch is crowned.

NPC's

Neolandus - Stays on as Seneschal until a new monarch is selected then retires to the country with this lover Salvator.

Field Marshal Kroft - Becomes the New Seneschal.

Vencarlo - Marries Amelizia and lives a life of comfortable philanthropy.

Grau Soldado - Promoted to Captain and eventually becomes the first Vistani Field Marshal

Sabrinna - Is tried and found guilty. However, both Vencarlo and the PC's vouch for her and her execution is commuted to banishment. She and a few loyal maidens ride out of town that night.

Verik Vancaskerkin - Is freed from Longacre in the final days of the rebellion and serves with great elan. Eventually re-earns his rank of sergeant in the new Korvosan Guard.

Majenko - The Pseudodragon leads the rest of his kind in a grand hunt through the skies of Korvosa slaying or driving most of the imps out of Korovosa except for a small gaggle near the Acadame. He becomes the Prince of Dragon’s in Korvosa and lives a long life of comfort with his harem.

Trinia - Trinia opens a successful art studio in South Point and is chartered to restore the artwork defaced and stolen from Castle Korvosa during Queen Ileosa’s reign. Additionally, Othollo colaborates with her to co-write the music to Curse of the Crimson Throne at which point she becomes romantically linked to him.

Arkona Family - Following the raising of their home, they are never seen again.

Rolth - In the final weeks of Queen Illeosa’s rule Rolth became an important pawn in the queen’s end game. He established a collection facility in North Dock where he was responsible for hundreds of deaths; syphoning the final quantities of blood necessary to complete the Queens transformation. With the fall of Castle Korvosa and open rebellion Rolth fled Korvosa and has not been seen since.

The council of nobles debates for several weeks. Rumors swirl, and the city holds its collective breath. Finally, after 13 days of deliberation the Council selects

Zenobia Zenderholm

I've since run one sequel - I completely rewrote Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth as bolt hole / cache of Sorshen. The PC paladin was entrapped in the Prison of Zagig and needed rescuing. Awesome Fun!!

Love that!

@ walter
None of your PC's became the new Blackjack?!

Our rogue/swashbuckler became the king of Korvosa after convincing Neolandus that he's the right man for the job. The Hellknight inquisitor rose through the ranks quickly and became a lictor of the Order of the Nail. Our wizard went off to battle an ancient evil in his homeland. The witch and fighter both basically retired.

I mention the goings-on in Korvosa regularly in my Reign of Winter campaign I'm running now with the same group. Since it's 7 years later there's a bunch that happened, and they players are always stoked to hear a small tidbit of information about Korvosa in the background.

Dark Archive

I'm thinking of sending them on a quest to recover the other artifacts of Kazavon taking them well into Epic, err I mean, Mythic territory.

They did, however in order to maintain his anonymity I did not disclose which.

That is actually really cool for your players. I used to do that too in my old campaigns, but since CotCT is my first campaign in Golarion, I can't do that yet.

Have you used old characters again, either as NPCs or as one-shot PCs for a tie-in adventure?

'Recover' you say? I'd rather see your PCs save the world and 'destroy' the artifact they have right now ... unless they want to recover the rest to destroy those artifacts as well.

Dark Archive

Yes, that's what I meant. Recover and destroy. I'm just not sure what order I should have them recovered. I'm leaving the Shredskin for last but as to the others I'm not so sure.

The Relics of Kazavon

They can't be destroyed unless they're all recombined anyway. Separate they're invincible.

How wonderful! I never knew the Shoanti who recovered the Fangs had an official name, Coja Eyes-Aflame! He'll be playing a part in my future campaign, at least his remains will. Until now he was known in my notes as 'Shemesh Fire-for-Blood'. I guess that it's out with Shemesh and in with Coja ... Thanks for pointing that out, Marik.

Not as of yet. I do plan a brief cameo of the "You see a dude who resembles the description of your character from the last campaign, but you aren't sure..." or, if necessary, having the stupidly powerful conjuration (teleportation) wizard pop in as a deus ex machina if absolutely necessary just to keep the campaign going. Otherwise, unless they go down to Korvosa, being up in Irrisen is going to necessarily limit their interactions.

I'm all for it, though, if another AP they choose takes us to Varisia again. And if I ever need a quick session or two to just dork around I may let my players dust off their old dudes and throw down against some Elder Gods or something. I'm planning on it, but we're all so busy and enjoying this AP that I'd probably have to wait until we're ending this one before I do that.

I reworked Lost Cavern of Tsojcanth as a follow on form my PC's. I located in the Mindspin Mountains and replaced the references to Iggwilv with Sorshen and had the parties Paladin imprisoned in the Prison of Zagig which I renamed the Prion of Eros. GM'd it as a Christmas special last year lol!!

Super Fun!

You could always do an extra session with your old party. Snow has also reached Korvosa and your old PCs get involved in a side-quest that somehow aids your new party. I'm not very familiar with Reign of Winter, though, so I don't know if such a scenario would be possible. Still, I guess it would be tremendous fun for your players to dig up the old characters once more.

Without spoilers, yeah. It's totally possible for stuff to be going down in Korvosa linked to this campaign. I do want to give enough time to allow the players to focus on their new party dynamic and romanticize their old party a bit more. When it starts getting nice and wistful, and they hit the right point in the campaign, there's already a plan for a quick "two-part special" that'll actually tie up some loose ends. And I assume our fighter probably wants to retrain into a Slayer in his retirement....

Finally finished this at the weekend after almost three years and loosing two of the four players, which made the last battle slow (er, so what can this character do? Something, somewhere, pass me the rulebooks!)

Dreusus the Sable Marine Ranger married Cressida Kroft and became the new king.
Gavrilo the half orc beguiler was made Minister of Public Works.
Caleb the cleric paid off his student loan
Quinta and her Shoanti girlfriend Swooping Owl are planning an Iomedan crusade into Chelliax to 'deal with' the Church of Asmodeus after they supported the previous regime.

The former church of Asmodeus is rebuilt as a cathedral to Iomedae.

The High Priest of Abadar (restored to life only through the efforts of the PCs) turned up at the castle with a fistful of IOUs signed by Ileosa asking for repayment. He was told that it would be easy to add "and Abadareans" to the newly painted signs at the city gate saying "Welcome to Korvosa, Zon Kuthonites not admitted".

No one bothered to restore Laori to life.

They signed up for the Glorious Reclamation & are hoping they're not too late to show up as an encounter in Hell Comes to Westcrown. Ideally one that gets lots of complaints for being over-statted.

ROFL! This made my night.

In our campaign we ended up ruling the kingdom.

Mélina, the reedemed succubi rogue, became Queen (with an astounding 40 charisma this was no surprise).

Georg, the Bard, became the new blackjack and master spy of the city.

Ury seven skull (yes the one from scarwall), after being recruited (charmed) by Mélina became a player and first bodyguard to the queen.

Lecoq the shoanti barbarian created a colony of settled Shoantis at the realm frontier and became champion defender of the kingdom.

Ariel, the bucaneer from riddleport became baroness and started raiding chelaxian vessels.

The dear Ariel brougth us a war with Cheliax and after defeating a chelaxian invasion's fleet we declared officially our independence from Cheliax. Korvosa is no more "the faithfull colony".

We then finished the last part of the return of the runelords and defeated Karzoug, were recuited by the ice queen to get her a relic and faced several monsters invasion.
After these adventures we moved from level 16 at the end of the campaign to level 21 now.
We are planning to continue playing using the epic level rules for pathfinder.

Between cessions, we managed the kingdom using the rules from the kingmaker campaign and we are thriving,we hope to annex Janderhom soon by diplomcy alone (thank to our charismatic queen).

A very good time, thanks to Paizo!

For us, the poor beleaguered cleric of Shelyn ended up taking over because she didn't trust any of the other party members. They were NOT a "good" bunch.

However, because she knew that she wouldn't be able to make the "hard" decisions, she appointed one Glorio Arkona, knowing full well his nature, to be her seneschal. Gloria is delighted, as she is human, so he's perfectly willing to perform his office magnificently for her lifetime. He is nothing if not patient.

As for the others, my memory may not be perfect, but I believe that:
- The reformed Grey Maiden who had turned against her oppressors took over the Grey Maidens, vowing to turn them into a force worthy of defending Korvosa
- The exiled Sable Rider took over as head of the newly re-formed Sable Company
- The shunned Jeggare started a new House Jeggare in Korvosa, after she'd personally managed to cause the fall of the old one (did I mention it wasn't a good party?)
- The walking talking impenetrable barrier moved on to other adventures, as did the goblin alchemist
