Energy Resistance and Immunity

Rules Questions

Hi there!

I was wondering. What number of energy resistance would be safe to call energy immunity?

Lets say if you have Fire resistance 50. Would that be so high that it's impossible to deal damage with fire?

Thanks in advance :)

Fire resistance 50 would just reduce fire damage by 50.

It's not immunity until it's... immunity.

A fireball spell does 10d6 damage, or a maximum of 60 fire damage.

An empowered fireball does 15d6 damage, or a maximum of 90 fire damage.
Immersion in lava does 20d6 damage, or a max of 120 fire damage.
Great wyrm red dragons do 24d10 damage with their breath weapon, or a maximum of 240 fire damage.
There are probably ways to get even higher damage.

As DominusMegadeus said, no amount of resistance is immunity. You have to have fire immunity to actually be immune to all fire damage.
