Barbarian Magic Item / Gear Help (PFS)

Advice

Greetings, my Barbarian will be level 4 tomorrow and I am starting to put together his "wish list" of stat items to buy. I have flipped through the list in the Ultimate Equipment but was wondering if there are other items, or no-brainer things I should be picking up after my weapon.

Belt:
Rings:
Neck:
Helm:
Boots:
Armor:
Cloak:

Those are the slots I am targeting, and it appears as though there are not a tremendous number of items that offer actual stat bonuses to them. Am I stuck with a STR/DEX/CON belt, a couple of AC Rings, and then misc ability items on the other pieces?

Any help and tips are appreciated.

Cloak of Resistance +1.
+1 Armor
+1 Weapon, Cold Iron or mithral (which is treated as silver)
Potions: Fly, Lesser REstoration.
Oils: Ghost Touch, Adamantine
+1 Shield (for extra AC if needed)
Wand of CLW for someone else to use to heal you up.

There's probably other potions you could buy, too. Enlarge, for example.

==Aelryinth

The Exchange

Belt without question should be Str/possibly Con.
Head Jingasa of the fortunate soldier (UE) (best w/ fortune's favor trait)
Eyes: Eyes of the Eagle (core) depending on race (DV may be more important)
Headband (with fortune's favor trait) Headband of fortune's favor; otherwise Headband of havoc
Cloak: cloak of resistance

Can you tell me where it says you can have an oil of ghost touch? I've never seen this, and normally ghost touch is expensive to achieve.

Pulling a raze dead on this one here. But posting the same question a few months later seems lame.

I have a level 6.1 barbarian with ~10,500 to spend and am looking at the same question as OP.

With 31 fame, I can buy anything I can afford.

Belt: Str +2
Rings: Open
Neck: Open
Helm: Open
Headband: Open
Boots: Open
Armor: Master Work Breast Plate
Cloak: Cloak of Resistance +1
Weapon: Adamantium Furious Great Sword +1
Ion Stones: None

I had thought about mithril full plate. The cost is a bit excessive and the AC boost of only 3 really isn't that useful.

Boots of the Cat. Cheap and can be fun. Will my invulnerable rager DR mitigate this damage?

Open to ideas and suggestions.

Rings: Ring of Deflection

Neck: Amulet of Natural Armor

Helm: Jingasa of the Fortunate Soldier

Headband: +2 WIS, helps your perception and Will Saves.

Boots: Slippers of Feather Step, cheap and will let you chase down enemies with greater ease.

Ioun Stone: This is a bit of a blind spot in my readings.

Lastly, with your armor, I have to ask what your dexterity is.

For the second ring, consider a ring of feather fall, at least after you sell those boots of the cat for boots of speed.

For the neck slot, amulet of natural armor is the go-to choice, but an aegis of recovery could be very useful as a safeguard against Sudden Barbarian Death Syndrome.

Ditto Ms. Pleiades on the head and headband slots.

For ioun stones:
-Cracked Dusty Rose Prism (500 gp): +1 initiative
-Cracked Tourmaline Sphere (800 gp): +1 insight on saves against death effects
-Tourmaline Sphere (1000 gp): Treat Con as 2 higher to determine when you die from hp damage (the flawed version is only 600 for the same effect, but gives a -1 on stabilization checks, which probably isn't a big deal for a barbarian)
-Cracked Pale Green Prism (4000 gp): +1 competence to all attack rolls (so it doesn't stack with Inspire Courage, but I rarely see bards in PFS)
-Cracked Pale Green Prism (4000 gp; that's right, there are two different versions): +1 competence to all saves (so get it before upgrading your +2 Cloak of Resistance to +3).
-Clear Spindle Ioun Stone (4000 gp): No food or water required. But the real benefit is to stick it in a Wayfinder to become immune to mental possession by evil creatures.
-Dusty Rose Prism (5000 gp): +1 insight to AC
-Pink Rhomboid (8000 gp): +2 Constitution (in case you want to boost Con some, while boosting Str faster with the belt)

Dex is 14, so I am not using all that a Breastplate has to offer anyways.

Well, the ideal armor material would be either noqual (mithral with a resistance bonus to saves vs magic) or glassteel (mithral with adamantine), but the latter isn't exactly PFS. I would suggest at the very least a mithral breastplate since it reduces your armor check to -1, allows your Dexterity to go up to 20 as you need all the AC you can get your grubby mitts on as a Barb, you can sleep in it, the weight is halved, and you get all of your increased combat speed as a Barb.

Try Boots of Striding and Springing out of the core rulebook. That ought to help a lot (bonus to your speed, bonus to climbing and acrobatics/jumping). Amulet of Natural Armor since your AC blows (Barbs are down 5 points of AC on average compared to a Fighter or Paladin, as you get no Heavy Armor Prof for full plate and lose 2 points when raging, and even worse you aren't using a shield). And no adventurer should be without a Handy Haversack! Being able to get what you want in the middle of a round is VERY useful, and it's cheap. A Scabbard of Keen Edges is really nice. Maybe a Ring of Protection to up your AC still further, since you went two handed with your weapon.

You might want to consider a Impact enchantment (+2), Holy enchantment +2 since most monsters are evil aligned, Impervious (3000gp), Guardian +1. If you decide to go the Intimidation route, Cruel +1, Ominous +1 are great for your weapon. You can grab Dazzling Display and Intimidating Prowess feats to up your scare factor.

I personally prefer a greataxe to a greatsword, as it's far more dramatic when it critical hits.

Don't bother with the headband of wisdom. Iron Will feat, Indomitable Faith trait, and being in a rage should help, since you've got a high Con to keep you in rage rounds.

Me personally I allow Ioun stones to stack with other attribute boosting items in my game, but others don't. Check out the Raging Vitality feat, and combine that with Regenerative Stance rage power.
