Its time to teach nana and pep-pep how to use the internet to shop.

I know of 2 places in Connecticut not too far from the rhode island border that carry pathfinder products. Citadel Game Cellar in Groton carries just about every product from them and is in stock at the store. Sarges comics in New London also carries some pathfinder products as well.

Depending on where in RI you live, Wonderland Comics in Putnam CT also have every single product put out in the last 2+ years, and is 10 minutes from the RI line. They also have a large stock of D&D and Pathfinder miniatures.

I also know for a fact that the two largest game distributors in the CT/MA/RI area all have stock of most books that are still in print. There are a few that are harder to find, but you should be able to get 80% of them within 3 weeks if you ask a local store to order them.

Also, for your extra class deck question: its a new product, which they can order for $8-$12 from their distributor. If they saw the need based on their regular clientele, they'd already have it in stock. So for a $20 product that they don't feel they can sell in the next month.... $5 wasn't a bad offer.

Im starting to see that it is more or less the store. I happen to have an extra box of the character add on deck for the card game, I brought it in and asked how much they would pay for it. They told me five dollars. Hmmm, Who else sees an issue here?

Those sell retail for what? $20? Five bucks is a good deal for a used set. They need to be able to make a profit reselling them. If you want more than that, sell it on eBay rather than to a retailer.

they aren't used. These are brand new. I would of been fine with ten bucks. Thanks for the help guys. I am sorry if it sounded like a tantrum/whining.

I didn't read it as whining, so no worries from me.

Even brand new parts are stil considered "used" by retailers if a customer is selling them. Just something you got to get used to, unfortunately. Pathfinder really gives characters a bonus by selling items back at 50%; the players aren't so lucky.

5 bucks isn't bad considering a 50 dollar video game usually nets you 5 bucks lol.

if game on! Starts stocking pathfinder books now, this means all our RI gamers now have a nice place to be! Plus they have cheap candies and sodas. Also my local library may actually stock pathfinder books, I saw a few D&D books. Wonder what happens when you bring a library book to a PFS game...... must cause a rift in time and space, causing the paizo staff to come shrieking out of the vortex to grab the book and scold said player very harshly.

If the library owns the book and it is checked out in your name, I'd allow it for a PFS game. But if you returned the book and it was no longer checked out in your name, then whatever abilities you got from that book would no longer be valid until you purchased the book, pdf, or rechecked it out.

It makes for a very complicated scenario.

If your local shop is hosting PFS games, I'd ask them about a policy my local gaming group had: who ever GM'd the game got $1 of store credit for each player who attended (typically $2-6 per game). This made it so people would be encouraged to GM and brought in more revenue to the store.

Today I spent searching, pretty much everywere for pathfinder books, not a single store had them. I live in rhode island, its not too big of a place so I figured I could easily find some, right? Dead wrong, I didn't find a single one, I searched pretty much all of the local gaming stores, I found nothing but a copy of blood for blood. I ended up finding out game on! is now stocking pathfinder books, but only the core rulebook. This is just plain dumb, why are these books so hard to find? Why aren't they more widely sold? Why is paizo being so stingy with distributing these? Im sure they like making a profit, but why limit the supply so much? Its near impossible for me to get these books unless off the internet! I just feel that I can't enjoy pathfinder as much, forget reccomending it to people.

Could have sworn the barnes and Noble in warwick has them, theres also that comic shop at the mall.

Forgive me I'm also from lil Rhodey,

Liberty's Edge

well damn, why don't we all start a pathfinder group, I mean really. Theres enough of us to enjoy it and a cool local store.

I asked them, they say its there suppliers. Meaning that its somewere farther back. RI has a pathfinder issue already, this is why I suspect paizo mostly.

"Suppliers" doesn't mean Paizo. "Suppliers" means wholesalers.

When you own a business, you don't usually buy from manufacturers themselves; instead, you buy from wholesalers/distributors, who themselves distribute to several businesses at a time.
If the wholesaler - for whatever reason - finds that it's not profitable to consistently carry a product, due to lack of interest/demand, they won't, which means businesses they sell to, in turn, won't be able to stock them.

Distributors can special order things sometimes, but you'd need to check with your local shop.

So, yeah. Don't blame Paizo, because likely they'd love to sell to your store's wholesaler - the wholesaler, for whatever reason, won't buy, however.
