Worshiping Brigh?!

Iron Gods

I'm GMing next weekend the first session of Iron Gods and one of my players wants to be a Cleric of Brigh. The problem is, there isn't much information about the worship of Brigh nor Brigh herself. I know there will be a chapter about her in Lords of Rust and I will get the PDF as soon as it is released, but until then can someone help me out on how the clergy and worship would look like?

Well Liz gave the daily obediences and boons for Brigh here.

Ok, the obediences is something to start with, but I'm more interested with the Dogma, Holidays and History, because that will help my player fleshing out his character more than boons.

I just don't want my player to change his background, because I ill informed him about deity.

Until Lords of Rust comes out this is it I'm afraid.

There's a Deity article in Lords of Rust for Brigh. You and your player can "wing it" until you get a copy of it.

Shadow Lodge

Inner Sea Gods has a column of information on Brigh.

Imagine Brigh as a slightly less good-hearted Kaylee from Firefly. She loves machines (including weapons, vehicles, and constructs) even the ones that aren't intelligent. People who fix or build machines are her favorite kind of people. Her clergy are deeply focused on the art of discovery and learning for it's own sake, and it's expected that their discoveries are to be shared, so that others might build upon their work with their own discoveries.

I know it sounds trivial...but do they mention colors associated with her worship ?

Bronze and silver. According to the linked site at least.

Thanks this helps a lot to get a general idea, with this he can have some flair to start and we'll fill in the gaps later.

... I wanted to like Brigh...

Liberty's Edge

Hey! What's wrong with Kaylee? =)

Another way to look at Brigh (which may be more palatable) is that she's the embodiment of the "hacker" ethos. Tinker, learn, share knowledge.

For some people, Kaylee falls into a particular niche of 'fanservice', which can be...
less appealing than others might think.

Oh no, it's not that. I thought everyone knew I hated firefly/whedon. It's cool if you are new to this knowledge.

I have trouble keeping track. Partly because I waver myself.

To each their own, FDM. The poster who used Kaylee as a reference was speaking metaphorically. You could also use as a metaphoric comparison "Scotty from Star Trek" or "Gadget from Rescue Rangers."

Does that make Brigh less detestable in envisioning the Divinity in one of those metaphoric terms?

builds altar to brigh

Scotty may be a man, but that doesn't lessen his technological accomplishments. In the original timeline, of course. This Abrams-Hell doesn't exist for me. ;)

Glad to see Gadget won you over. =^-^=

Not at all. You detest Firefly. I rather enjoyed it. I enjoyed Serenity. My Firefly-loving best friend detests it. I liked both Battlestar Galactica series, while many liked only one or the other. Others here may like all scifi shows or only some of them.

What matters is this: We are all of us Science Fiction Fans.

We are united in our love for the genre itself, even if we dislike certain aspects of SciFi or enjoy differing parts.
