What kind of action is the Parry and Riposte for the Swashbuckler deed?

Opportune Parry and Riposte (Ex): At 1st level, when an opponent makes a melee attack against the swashbuckler, she can spend 1 panache point and expend a use of an attack of opportunity to attempt to parry that attack. The swashbuckler makes an attack roll as if she were making an attack of opportunity...
...Upon performing a successful parry and if she has at least 1 panache point, the swashbuckler can as an immediate action make an attack against the creature whose attack she parried, provided that creature is within her reach.

In terms of feats, abilities, traits, etc. I've heard people call both the Parry and Riposte as attack of opportunities, only the Parry counts as a attack of opportunity, neither roll counts - confused.

(1) So does the Parry part count as a attack of opportunity for modifiers?

(2) So does the Riposte part count as a attack of opportunity for modifiers?

RAW, the riposte definitely doesn't count as an AoO. It's an attack roll made as an immediate action.

The parry can arguably count as an AoO, because you make the attack roll "as if [you] were making an attack of opportunity."

I believe the Parry itself is an attack of opportunity while the riposte is a immediate action,

If this is correct then you can parry multiple times per turn but only riposte once

That's my take as well. The ability is divided in two parts.

The first triggers when subject to a melee attack, the Parry. This counts as an AoO for all intents, and as such limited by your available AoO.

The riposte is then a second effect triggered by a successful parry. Unfortunately the riposte is a once a round thing since it's an immediate action and consumes your swift action for the round.

So with combat reflexes and a 16 Dex you could parry up to 4 times in a round, very useful I say. And on one of these, if successful you could riposte (using up your swift action for the round to make this immediate action)
