What are legal society options for a ranger without magic?

Advice

I also don't want to use traps and that's the only option I know of. I remember a cool option in 3.5 that traded magic for the ability to momentarily buff yourself in various ways which was cool.

Btw basically what I'm wanting is a str based two weapon fighter. And if I'm not mistaken if I take two weapon fighting style with a ranger I don't have to meet the prerequisites. So if there is a better way to do what I'm aiming for by all means inform me. Maybe Slayer? actually I think I just answered my own question lol. :P

Skirmisher or WIS = 10.

Hm ok I'll take a look at the skirmisher. Also I could just have no wisdom but that would just seem wasteful to simply not use a class feature. I want a purely physical ability that replaces magic.

I don't recommend the low WIS. However, it is a legal way of not getting spells, so technically that is one of your options.

You did.

What about a Slayer? It's not technically a ranger, but if you want to get the approximate feel of one without magic or traps, it's a lot easier with a slayer than with a ranger.

Yeah, Slayer can play pretty much like a ranger without magic if you choose ranger-like talents, like the style feats and favored terrains.

Guide/Trapper Ranger is a favorite of mine.

Go slayer if you don't want the animal companion. Go skirmisher archetype if you do. Personally I think having the companion is a stronger choice.

A Slayer can actually be more combat focused than a ranger, considering they also get access to rogues talents, which can give at minimum, an extra combat feat and weapon focus, which can put you at least a couple levels ahead of a standard ranger.
