Base Attach Bonus Question

Rules Questions

So this is my first time playing, so bear with me. I started a campaign out as a fighter, got him up to lvl 7 so I had the two attacks. On level 8, I took a level in the stalwart defender class. So for the the figter lvl 7, I had a BAB of +7/+2, then the stalwart defender has a +1. So does the +1 from stalwart defender only apply to the first attack or would it apply to the second one as well?

Thanks!

Both. Your BAB is now +8/+3. BAB follows a formula. Each bonus after the first is strictly determined by the first.

Sczarni

BABs from multiclassing stack.

A Barbarian-1/Fighter-1/Rogue-1/Cleric-1 would have a BAB of +2.

(+1/+1/+0/+0)

Sczarni

And, for that matter, Saves stack, too.

Using the previous example, your saves would be:

Fort +6
Ref +2
Will +2

Thanks for the quick response gentlemen

The Exchange

No the Barbarian-1/Fighter-1/Rogue-1/Cleric-1 would have a BAB of +3.5 rounded down to 3

(+1/ +1/ +3/4 +3/4)

Sczarni

Not sure where you're getting that, but it's not from the PFRPG rule set.

Note that the Base Attach Bonus only applies on grapple checks to hug or on diplomacy checks to bond with others :p

That was an optional rule introduced in 3e's Unearthed Arcana book (aka The Big Book Of House Rules). It's a good rule, but not in anything PF has released.
