Possible uses for JotunGrip

Advice

I've been wanting for a while to at least theory craft something where using a two-handed weapon in one hand is actually all that useful.

Maybe a Barbar-2/Two-handed fighter-X, overchop/backswing looks like a decent way to overcome any issues. Or maybe a Tower Shield Specialist(mostly for funsies). Could also become a Magus and still cast those spells. two-weapon fighter also seems interesting.

though really there isn't much a two-handed weapon has over a normal weapon when it uses normal strength and power attack numbers.

If you went 3 levels into titan mauler you could one hand a oversized bastard sword that would be pretty neat. The penalties suck though.

except the fact that titanmauler's massive weapons don't overcome the weapon type shifting that happens, it just wouldn't be all that worth it. (large 1-hander is still a 2 hander and large 2 hander is still unwieldable, so i'd still need exotic weapon prof with bastard sword to even attempt)

Well, Power Attack doesn't specify that you have to two-hand a two-handed weapon to get that +50% bonus on damage, which means more damage while you can also TWF or use a shield, so there's that I guess.

Jotungrip however, specificalyl says you treat teh weapon as a one-handed weapon for strength and power attack.

actually, a Greatsword and spear would be just as cool. I think i have my idea that i wanted, but keep suggesting more.

Using a reach weapon one-handed is the only real use I can think of. A Titan Mauler 2/Daring Champion X with a Bardiche would be reasonably workable.

Well, you can switch between reach, and non-reach.

So, you wield one as reach, and one as non-reach, and threaten a large area, whilst having all your weapon specific feats apply to both.
