There is a special pre-launch scenario that can be run at the stores right now. We played it last night. You can play it with characters in the box and it gives you a free deck upgrade for your organized play character as a reward. It was pretty cool. Has you moving every turn or you bury a card. Made for some interesting times and checks!

The scenario they're talking about is called On the Horizon—it's a sort of "preseason" PFSACG scenario that you can play before you select a Class Deck, since it uses regular S&S characters. Retailers in the PFSACG program received it as a PDF download earlier this week. (We will eventually make it available for general download.)

I need to go back and get the time when it was discussed, but Tanis mentioned that a group would get the plunder cards from below their ship even if the scenario wasn't successful, something about needing to improve your decks so you would have a better chance next time. I looked at the most current base set rules as well as the guide to organized play and this directly conflicts with the rules. Did anyone else catch this, and if so have they seen where this rule exists in writing?

You don't get plunder if you lose. But there is an opportunity to upgrade from the cards gotten in the scenario.
Yup, me talk pretty one day, but that day wasn't it. What I was less-than-coherently referring to was that if y'all lose the scenario and haven't acquired enough cards to give everyone a deck upgrade, you basically use the plunder table to pull enough random cards from the box to ensure everyone has a shot at something. (This is detailed in the Guide.)
Reason #17 the card hierarchy doesn't include the design team.
