Kinda now! Come ask us questions!

Caught the last half or so. Going to go listen to the first half now. Thanks for doing this.

They talk in this about a new scenario using the Base Set of S&S appearing on the website- has anyone seen this?

I believe they are referring to the demo.

I was wondering this as well. They didn't make it sound like it was a demo, but that would make sense.

There is a special pre-launch scenario that can be run at the stores right now. We played it last night. You can play it with characters in the box and it gives you a free deck upgrade for your organized play character as a reward. It was pretty cool. Has you moving every turn or you bury a card. Made for some interesting times and checks!

Where did that come from?

My FLGS just got it with their OP package yesterday.

Grand Lodge

Silly question ... email or an actual package?

My FLGS has had an OP pack since August (complete with exploding Goblin promo)

Just waiting on some class decks to play with...

I think they downloaded the pdf and printed out the scenario but they did get an actual demo copy of the base set, which I thought was pretty nice.

The scenario they're talking about is called On the Horizon—it's a sort of "preseason" PFSACG scenario that you can play before you select a Class Deck, since it uses regular S&S characters. Retailers in the PFSACG program received it as a PDF download earlier this week. (We will eventually make it available for general download.)

I need to go back and get the time when it was discussed, but Tanis mentioned that a group would get the plunder cards from below their ship even if the scenario wasn't successful, something about needing to improve your decks so you would have a better chance next time. I looked at the most current base set rules as well as the guide to organized play and this directly conflicts with the rules. Did anyone else catch this, and if so have they seen where this rule exists in writing?

I remember seeing that during the live broadcast, but I think she misspoke and she corrected herself or Mike corrected her. She then went into how all players in OP always get a card upgrade (or an opportunity to upgrade least), even if you fail. That's in the rules section on upgrading your deck.

The Exchange

Yeah, it is right at minute 54, she back pedals a bit, but it is still unclear.

You don't get plunder if you lose. But there is an opportunity to upgrade from the cards gotten in the scenario.

Yup, me talk pretty one day, but that day wasn't it. What I was less-than-coherently referring to was that if y'all lose the scenario and haven't acquired enough cards to give everyone a deck upgrade, you basically use the plunder table to pull enough random cards from the box to ensure everyone has a shot at something. (This is detailed in the Guide.)

Reason #17 the card hierarchy doesn't include the design team.

Amen to that.

Thanks for the clarification, that is how we had been running it, wanted to make sure that I hadn't missed a memo.
