Very cool! Such a shame it's Dota2 and not League of Legends. :)

My charecter's backstory, as far as he can remember-

"Hmm? You want my story? Well, I suppose you were going to leave eventually anyway...
When I was younger, I was... Rebellious. I fought against the law without reason, but without real desire to harm, either. I guess I just wanted to be contrary for the sake of it. I often found myself staring into the cold night sky... I never was terribly religious, and largely rejected both sides of the moon, despite their nature matching up somewhat with mine. Maybe I just didn't want to worship them because others were doing it too. So, one day, I prayed to the dark I stared up at every night, so the moon would hear and envy... Yet, I wasn't prepared for what happened- the dark... Responded. My blood froze my own flesh, and for the next several hours I could barely move from the pain of the cold.... Before it finally went numb, my body as cold as my blood. It's been 4 years since, me living on the edges of society, making sure not to stay anywhere too long. Yet, the sun is indiscriminate in it's warmth, even warming a creature of cold and dark such as myself. It's... One of the few things I still can feel. Quite forgiving, the sun... I'm not sure what kind of pact I made that day, and frankly, I just can't care anymore. I'm going to try and live each day to it's fullest, and if I am doomed in the afterlife, so be it. My mark on this world will live on... And I just hope it's a good one."

A little weak, and very, very short. I hope to do better with future revisions.

If someone could look over my character sheet and make comments that would be a help.

Spoiler:
Antalasia
Mine is a story of great tragedy, but also of great hope.

Life for a worker in a changeling hive is quite interminable: it consists of drudgery mixed with tedium and only occasionally punctuated by moments of terror when adventurers arrive or new queens discover ambition. My own hive, rather than infiltrate a peaceful town and drain the inhabitants one-by-one, settled out in the wilderness and abducted its victims. It’s not the most efficient method for securing emotion — as few retain much positivity in such a state of horror — but it is much safer. Unfortunately it was required that someone guard these unfortunate souls in between bleedings despite the quite escape-proof cage in which they were kept. That someone was me. It was the most uneventful and mind-numbing job in the hive, made all the worse by their terrible wails and moans and the fact that having to think so much about food made me hungry.

One day when the boredom had reached a furious peak I decided to let the food go. My plan was to slip out among them, presenting myself as yet another pony prisoner who had managed to slip my bonds and rescue the others. I cared nothing for them at the time, seeing them only as a pony might see a walking, talking crop, but I had decided the whole incident would provide at least some variety (though woe would be upon me should I be found out by either the hive or the ponies). The escape was quite successful: the changelings had grown quite complacent, enough that not one noticed our group sneaking away even through the crowded tunnels of the hive.

The ponies turned out to be part of a traveling theater troupe, traveling the land putting only plays with only a wooden board, some painted canvas, a few props and a little makeup, and a curtain. Being their savior they generously offered me a place with them, and with it a chance to learn the thespian profession. Something which, as a natural infiltrator, I turned out to be quite good. It was quite amazing. But even more I found I could get all the emotion I needed just from the adoration of the crowd. Ah, those were the days: when I trod upon the infinite plain that lies between simple canvas and the unknown depths of the mind.

Unfortunately I was ultimately discovered and chased out at the somewhat blunt point of theatrical weaponry. But by then I had come to the realization that acting was the perfect way for changelings to get all the sustenance they require without having to perform the role of Evil. One day I hope to spread this enlightenment to all changelings. But before then the ponies of the world must be made to understand that there is potential for goodness in changelings if only they will open their hearts and minds and give us a chance.

So it is to that end that I travel, garnering fame and good name for myself as the dashing and inspiring presence that makes all Evil tremble and all good people have hope. One day they shall write plays about me and they will need only my name for everyone to recognize it: Antalasia!

Appearance: Antlasia doesn’t hide the fact that she’s a changeling unless she feels a given group of ponies will be too hostile otherwise. Even when being open she still prefers to present herself in a “queen” form, with mane and tail and eyes with pupils so that ponies are less unnerved. The hair for the mane and tail are usually wigs so that touching them does not reveal the disguise. She uses her quick change cloak to keep spare wigs and face prosthetics so that her alternate disguises also have the correct touchable features. She goes around clothed more often than most ponies, as when in changeling disguise touching clothes reveals less of her true nature.

I love it, Silvercat! The only thing that comes to mind is the name (the story is great, and while I don't have time to dissect the character sheet, it looks good). Just about every character in the show has a name that's actual words (Rarity, Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, Sunset Shimmer, Shining Armor, etc.), and even the only named changeling is called Chrysalis. Would you consider giving her a name to match?

Sidenote - those are two awesome traits! I'd not seen those before.

The name is a combination of "ant" for the insect-like feel of changelings and "Andalasia" which is a breed of horse and a region in Spain known for its accent (ex. Antonio Banderas). I figure the latter is also a place name in-universe following the horse theme.

I can change it if you really want, but I'm not that good with names and this character needs a name that really sounds the theatrical part. If it makes you feel any better I imagine it's a name she gave herself and so was deliberately made to sound exotic compared to the "actual word" names.

I'm a little stuck with my backstory, so improvements will have to wait...

Sorry.

Haha, I like the etymology of the name. It's your character, just figured I'd mention it.

Wow. I just need to spend 1745gp and pick one trait and feat and Lore is done.

Still looking towards this game with a fiery passion that only the sun could match!

Oh, you need help spending money? My character can help with that! ;D

Lol thanks for the offer, but I'm set now. The only thing missing is languages. Otherwise, Lore Delver is finalized (unless rules get changed, of course).

Well, do people like the general premise of my oracle, or should I work on other things I have in mind?

Shadow Lodge

I like the general premis,

You're biased, though.

Shadow Lodge

*shrug* true enough.

Seems solid to me. Kind of Dark Tapestry-y, but I can dig that :)
Stat-wise, etc., seems like a good build. Glad I'm not the only one interested in being an earth pony :D

I acutslly switched the curse to dark tapestry a little while ago. I think it works better.
Not much changed stat-wize.

My other one involves a pegaus, but only becuase of their racial oracle bouns one of the only ones in the game that can make in-battle healing a good option.

icehawk333 wrote:

I don't think I saw that post >.< I just saw the dual-curse/black blooded one. So... there's that! lol

I never mentioned it, I just mentioned I was changing stats around.

Though, this was the plan I made after I realized there was no direct CN deity.

No clue if he's even here.

Didn't see the dm mention him.

If powers were received from him, it woudl be spellscar instead, probably.

Ace Bolt, Chaotic Good Pegasi Cleric of Desna[?] (Good; Travel, Exploration)
Init +4; Senses Weather Savvy, Sense Motive +6, Perception +10

Spoiler:
Pony creator code: 3F2C000010BAD9D817E8E801A0100BB96UN1837203000002M115E5E5F0FE802I107F3FCC004 CB2

Spoiler:

I’ve obviously assumed some things about the world, some of which are probably not true. I’m more than happy to make modifications, but hopefully the general idea comes across!

Ace Bolt always expected, was always expect, to be a Wonderbolt. Her mother was a Wonderbolt, her grandmother had been a Wonderbolt, she was destined to be a Wonderbolt.

Raised in the great city of Pegasopolis, she flew almost as soon as she left the nest, and was the best Junior Speedster in her class. Her eye with a bow was unparalleled, and her arrows flew as surely as she did.

But her Brand of Destiny never manifested. As she grew older, her Cutiemark Crusading grew more dangerous, fearlessly flying down to the wild mountains below the sky-city. On many occasions, she and her ringled friends barely avoided deadly encounters with dangerous wild inhabitants. Her parents, wealthy but never devout, took her to the clerics of the sun, to finest doctors of Canterlot, but, as she aged from filly into young mare, and still her flank remained blank, they grew desperate.

The moment Ace set hoof inside the Temple of the Moon, her Brand of Destiny appeared on her hindquarters, the pale butterfly wings of Desna’s holy symbol. Her parents, with some regret for their own ambitions on her behalf, but pleased that she’s found the destiny that will make her happy, allow her to enter the lunar seminary with their blessing, although she still loves to fly and shoot.

The seminary tempered the arrogance of ability with wisdom and humility, and now, driven by the wanderlust of her pegasi blood and attuned to Desna’s domains of Good and Exploration, she travels the world seeking to understand it, Desna and herself, healing those in pain and helping those in need, whilst occasionally performing awesome flying tricks and astounding feats of archery!

Her father is a sergeant in the Long Guard, pegasi rangers often far from civilisation for months at a time. As a foal she often travelled with the Wonderbolts, and considers them a second extended family. Shortly before she graduated from the seminary, her father Silver Gambit disappeared in the wilds. Though he’s now been reported dead, she hopes to find word of him, even his body that she might raise from the dead. Upto this point her mother Ace Burn has been supportive of her career, but in her grief she’s expressing doubts, preferring that her only daughter stayed closer to home where she’d be safe.

Another significant influence on her life is Starry Soul, the elderly and wise earthpony stallion who mentored her in the Temple of the Moon, and counseled her through her grief. Her best friend is her cellmate from the cloisters, Dawning Moon, a unicorn mare who doesn’t quite match Ace in adventure. Though neither is particularly wise for their age, Ace worries that Dawning is a little clumsy for the wider world, both physically and socially. For her part, Dawning worries that Ace will find life’s tests harder to pass than the seminary’s - especially since she won’t have the intelligent, bookish unicorn to help her study.

Spoiler:

I’ll sort out equipment properly if selected, assuming that is acceptable. Also, do I need to take acrobatics to be able to perform tricks and so forth whilst in flight?

Says the pony code is invalid... Not sure why.

Otherwise I rather like Ace Bolt. I'm amazed you didn't do Ace Bolt the Bolt Ace, though lol

@icehawk: I know that feel, but I've been shot down on campaigns so often recently that I'm only submitting one per instance from here on :/

Actually...

I have more ideas now.

I'm gonna have like 4 submissions by the end of this...

Discord is indeed a Chaotic Neutral god and can be worshipped. As far as domains... I need to pick some but when making your character, just pick whatever domains you feel are appropriate for your god of choice, and I will be very likely to just say "Sure, go for it." I am not a big fan of restricting domain selections heavily.

Feel free to submit as many ponies as you want, though obviously a maximum of 1 per player will be accepted in the end.

Edit: Actually, I'm having a different idea about domains, so the below is subject to change!

Okay! If its okay to go with any domains I'll pick those two (Good, Travel-Exploration), and make her a cleric of Luna (Chaotic Good). Oh! Maybe I should write in a seminary rival who turned to worshipping Nightmare Moon!

Um... since we're picking domains, can we also pick favoured weapons? I'd chose Longbow, since that fits with the character concept and it somehow feels Lunar to me. "The arrows have landed perfectly! Huzzah!"

I will pick the favored weapons. Let's see...

Luna (Chaotic Good) - Longbow
Discord (Chaotic Neutral) - Whip
Nightmare Moon (Chaotic Evil) - Sickle
Celestia (Lawful Good) - Longsword
Cadence (Neutral Good) - Scimitar
Starswirl (Neutral) - Quarterstaff

Sombra is Lawful Evil, but isn't quite a god and can't grant spells to clerics. Clerics who serve him draw often draw their power from corruption and darkness itself.

Some clerics literally draw their magic power directly from the sacred Elements of Harmony.

Chaotic Neutral clerics of the moon goddess can select either Longbow or Sickle as their favored weapon (only one). This usually (but not always) corresponds with their selection of channeling positive/negative energy.

Shadow Lodge

I'd call the elements LN

Okay! Thanks for the Longbow! I'll take the Point-Blank Shot feat instead of Bow Proficiency, which I no longer need. I'll keep the Good and Travel (exploration) domains.

How many fighter-types have been made so far?

Naw, harmony is neutral good. They have nothing to do with lawful vs chaotic and everything to do with the idea of good.

Discord was an issue not from his chaos, but from how he used it without considering others. He was selfish with his power.

@icehawk: I think just the barbarian pegasus. Possibly my earth pony barbarian.

I found a trait that just gave me an idea for one heck of a fighter.

Even it's /name/ is win.
The sheer audacity of your actions is enough to make people stop and stare.

Correct. The elements are Neutral Good.

icehawk333 wrote:

Rime-Weaver isn't a front-line fighter. She hasn't got the health to be...But...She's a squishy-gishy controller type using a melee attack grapple to apply debuffs. So expect to see her near the front line anyway, probably putting enemies into disadvantaged flanking spots for the real melee hitters.

It works a bit like this:

Her hair is a natural weapon.
Frigid touch or Frostbite spell with Rime Spell channeled through natural weapon (hair) via spellstrike.
Depending on hit and saves, target has now taken damage from the hit, from the spell, and is now staggered or fatigued and entangled.
Hair automatically tries to make a natural Grab special ability attack...This is a Grapple against the (hopefully weakened) target. If successful, target is now grappled, staggered or fatigued, and entangled. If she also had Prehensile Hair active, giving a 10' reach, and the target was not adjacent to her, it is automatically moved to an adjacent square...which may very well mean the target is now flanked by a friendly.

With further levels she'll be able to trip and apply a constrict attack as well.

The downside? This means she's standing next to someone who can probably beat the snot out of her...And is highly motivated to do so.

So basically she can cast at range but the meat and potatoes of her build doing its thing means she will be standing next to the barbarian or other heavily armored, heavily armed melee type, debuffing hostiles and delivering them neatly gift-wrapped.

"Oh, hey, look what I got for yoooooou!...(kill it quickly, please)"

Thinking on it, Lore could act as a melee-type if needed. Not the best at it, but not the worst either.

Shadow Lodge

Once I finish my dread changling debuffer I'll move onto a barbarian Pegasus specializing in flight feats.

Do monks need to be lawful?

There's already a barbarian Pegasus applying, FYI.

Ah. Thank you.

Shadow Lodge

I realize,
Mutagenic fighter could also work, or maybe paladin, they start getting good around this level,

No, not really, due to it's reliance on either a certain archetype or a boatload of feats.

Shadow Lodge

?
I meant for my Mach speed Pegasus build...
What do you mean by what you say?

Oh. I'm thinking something unrelated.

I can't help but notice that we're approaching 300 message on an interest check.

And most of the past couple of days has been character creation. Perhaps it's time to just create a Recruitment thread? With the understanding that 'game time' is still distant and unset?

There's a problem with the wizened oracle curse-

They get time stop at 15th level, dispire it being a 9th level spell.

Yeah, we can have a pizza parlor rp while we wait for the main campaign to be ready.

So names,
Warren Peace
Haiden Seek
Noname
Justin Case
Restin Peace
(Last three were stolen.)

Moony, Lunar Shadow, Priestess, (tarot reference)

Also, can try having an alicorn for of the major arcana cards, sun moon and empress are already filled!

So unicorns are the only ones who can use arcane magic right?
