In Pathfinder TT, as any class, when you buy a weapon feat it is then tied to your class.
I propose that Pathfinder Online become mechanically similar to this. When you buy weapon feats, the use of those weapons are tied to any weapon achievement you need to increase your class.
Currently, Using a long sword increases martial. Using a short increases subterfuge.
The Change: Any weapon you have a feat for will give achievement points toward the feature you have equipped. The feature achievements will give you what you need to increase a class level.
In TT, weapons do not grant you the ability to increase your class level. Currently in PFO, you are required to use specific weapons to increase your class.
I know some of you will vote it down only because I proposed it. Try to think objectively. Please

This would solve a lot of problems for me, right now, since a lot of my build is split between Rogue's stealthy stuff and Fighter's longbow access.
Only problem is this... *pulls out his CRB*
Rogues: "Rogues are proficient with all simple weapons, plus the hand-crossbow, rapier, sap, shortbow and short sword. They are proficiency with light armor but not with shields."
It would be somewhat inconsistent with PFTT if I could build a Rogue that could get all its subterfuge needs met through a Longbow. That means the current system makes sense.... and I am going to have to struggle against the harsh realities of the world as I try to build the closest thing PFO currently allows for a Ranger.

This proposal would let wizards get Arcane achievements by clubbing things with sledgehammers.
Not necessarily, the achievements are tied to your feature. A wizards achievements should be more spell based since that is its role just like a Clerics, but Rogues and Fighters are weapon based.
Of course it would need to be modified to fit each class.
Arcane achievements should not be weapon based.

So, with PFTT, if I buy the martial weapons feat, do I still get XP as a rogue? Or would any non starting rogue weapon I use automatically place my xp in fighter?

Plenty of people do not go to ideascale. I just followed your lead by pointing it out. On this forum that is... I am sure you can see in the other thread on GW forums it is about grinding.
Two different subjects, but thats ok, they have similar issues. I wanted a feal out on the GW thread before making an Ideascale about it. Which I will not be doing.
This one needed to be done.

haha, wow it's that srs?
I will vote this up. It sounds like a good idea.
Thanks
I changed to OP to try and make it more clear for everyone. I realize that I am not the best at conveying my thoughts to text.
Its is that Serious. My stress levels last year were through the roof (different now but not much better), and I have said things that hurt peoples feelings. Including Ryan, which is why he made the post above. When all I was doing was following his leadership in trying to get people over to Ideascale.
I thought I was helping, oh well.

Actually its good to know what is happening on Ideascale.
I have enough on my hands keeping track of this forum and the super slow Alpha forum without adding Ideascale as well. I will add Ideascale when the activity on these two forums dies down.
Aside from which I have grown tired of arguing with people that want to make the game "just like TT without the dice rolls" or "just like WoW" or "just like EVE but with more ganking and force the carebears to hand over more stuff" or "just like 2nd ed and bring back THACO".
I have decided to let you guys argue it out and then when you are finished I will decide then if I like the end result and want to keep playing - or not :D
