Thoyoitu approaches the door slowly and adjusts his backpack. Stop worrying so much, the others will notice. Your tribe will be here shortly, and you certainly don't want them seeing up upset. After taking a deep breath, Thoyoitu strides in, taking a quick look around to spot anything suspicious or of value.

Thoyoitu is a humanoid with the head and feed of a Crow, and covered in black feathers. His clothes look well-worn and dirty, but not tattered. By the way he carries his backpack and bedroll on his back, it is clear he is no stranger to long travels. Along his belt, you see a sling, an odd looking dagger, a hammer, and an exquisite set of thieve's tools.

Finally, he speaks, his voice high and bird-like, with plenty of squawking, I am looking for the Oracle from the ship. Has anybody seen her?

Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Sense Motive Success:
Thoyoitu seems worried, and also appears to be scanning the room for something or someone.

Tomkin the Doughty:
can you note your point buy for me? Even as an angel-kin, I see 16, 16, 14, 12, 12, 8 for 27point buy, rathervthan the 15 for this game. I'm fine with the idea, just need the bombers to line up right. Thanks!

Victor momentarily leaves the lady to her scribbling, she obviously being more engrossed in her writing at the moment.
"it must all be rather stirring" Victor ponders to himself.
He turns to see the approaching newcomer.Asking for something.Victor isn't quite sure what he wants either
sense motive: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 1 - 4 = 10
Victor greets him cheerfully, much like the others
"hello sir? I don't think the oracle's here anymore. Who are you looking for exactly?"

Thoyoitu extends a hand, "Oh, hello there. Did I see you on the ship? The Oracle...I never caught her name. I was hoping to learn her name. And you, what's your name? I can see we're both a bit...out of the ordinary, no? But then, who here is? *chuckle*"

Rosa puts her note book away, and smiles at Victor.

"You would be amazed at what one can learn from just looking and hearing, its a habit of mine to make notes on all things new I come across. You know I'm a healer as well as an Explorer, I've been looking for some good anti-toxin your don't happen to have some do you?"

She looks down at the two, that seem to be addressed to both of them.

"You know as you offered your services Somar then so shall I, if and when the expedition gets started you can count on me for keeping you healthy and well. Also I have some gifts that may be of use. One being.."

wings of red light spring form her back and she gos up 30' into the air, , she dos not move fast, but gets there, Then after a moment she comes back down again. landing with some grace luckily.

Fly 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 9 - 4 = 18 yes with grace

Her winds fold up into her back and are once more out of sight.

"When making ones way in such an open land as this, its always good to have someone that can get some hight and a good view of what's up ahead."

seeing the new comer now, she offers her hand as well.

"Lady Rosalyn Aanya Luminuss nice to meet you, and you have wings as well, do you fly? it would be nice to have another who can, two in the air is much safer than one I feel"

A solid thunk is heard as victor drops his case on the ground

He quickly recovers and moves to address the crow-man.
"Your point does make a lot of sense i suppose." victor looks over his shoulder at the suspended Rosalyn.turning back to the crow-man, he continues
"well my name is victor. Pleasure to meet your acquaintance.and you are?"

He addresses her, still somewhat startled.
"I don't suppose you need it now, do you? I suppose I could whip up a batch but my hands aren't quite as firm as they were about a minute ago"

"No rush"

She says now back on the ground.

"Its just when and if we set off, for bites and the like, who knows what things lurk out there a?"

She gives him mischievous wink.

Going to bed now guys, I'm GMT +8 but I post a lot, so make up for the odd time zone. Just take it that Rosalyn is looking around but with the group. She seem interested in every thing and makes notes of things she sees that seem new. ya later

"more things with wings" victor mutters, making a mental note to get schematics on a glider of sorts whenever possible.

"Impressive work there. But alas, prefer the ground beneath my feet, though I do like a good climb. I did a lot of climbing back home." Thoyoitu suddenly stops, looking blank into space for a moment before returning, "Um, but no, I do not fly. I do like to walk on buildings, though, and am quite skilled at getting in through windows. *hearty laugh*"

"Mhmm, but yes, very nice to meet you. My name is Thoyoitu. You can also call me the Tenguin, if you really don't like me. *chuckle*"

"Thoyoitu. Pronounced Tho-yo-it-tu?" Victor prods further, not wanting to mess up the name of his new friend.

I live in a GMT +8 time zone....

"Thoy-oy-tu, actually. 'oy' as in 'soy'"

"thoy-oy-tu.thoy-ot-tu" victor repeats the name over and over to get it right.

"what brings you here anyway? Is the oracle the only the reason you are here?"

please ignore the stats under this alias, I'm still converting him

a new land:
A sleek black wolf hurtles down the gangplank and freezes suddenly upon reaching the beach, her tongue lolling, nose in the air. Though overjoyed at being released from the captivity of her companion's cabin and the horror of the ceaseless rocking of the ship, she's suddenly cautious. After weeks of smelling nothing but salt and sick and dry jerky for food, though there were somewhat pleasant memories of fresh rat, nothing was familiar, nothing... rat... when was the last rat she'd eaten?... She smelled game on the air, but that too was unfamiliar, she wanted comfort right now, something she knew, maybe easy prey... rat... and close... and easily big enough to share with her companion, hmmm, a communal meal after a hunt with her pack, that's what she needed, the ritual needed to cement their bond with a new land... where is he anyway?... she can still smell him on the ship... always so slow... enough, she couldn't wait anymore, she'd offer him some morsel when he showed up, but the big rat wouldn't wait for her forever, time to hunt.

She sings one rising note, a question and a call, and a warning and doesn't wait for an answer. She leaps and gallops over the sand toward the small huddle of humanoids not far ahead, the small rat man among them. With no pack to work with she forgoes the normal herding maneuvers in favor of a straight charge.

With less than five feet between them she leaps and makes contact, driving him down into the sand and pinning him down, her paws on his shoulder. She will rip out his throat with her teeth, taste his blood, root past his wiry fur to the supple flesh beneath, his soft belly and what's inside!...

NEKARE!! COME!!

she hesitates but leaves the rat man unharmed and trots to the heal of a grey skinned hobgoblin in skins and twist of mistletoe wrapped about his forearm, a scimitar at his side, now at the end of the gang plank. Goblinoid and wolf make eye contact for several moments before the wolf begins to roll on her back in way that is all of submissive, affectionate and playful. She jumps up and follows interestedly as he saunters to the gathering group of immigrants.

He holds out a clawed hand to Victor, still on the ground apologies, rat man, it has been a long voyage and Nekare is eager to stretch her legs. to the group at large, Go-n'-die...

also, please excuse my playing out a pseudo combat situation for the sake of a dramatic entrance

"I'm here on a voyage with my peop-" Suddenly, a Wolf jumps in and attacks Victor. In the ruckus, Thoyoitu attempts to slip out of sight, hiding in a small corner.

Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

Victor is alarmed as a wolf is suddenly set upon him
"BY THE GOOD GRACES OF LORNVAR WHAT IS THIS"

As the wolf retreats, victor gets up slowly and dusts himself off, annoyed at the sudden attack.

"please good sir.Keep your companion within convenient range and under control. I do not appreciate being set upon suddenly like that." victor keeps his tone stern but otherwise remains polite.

Victor looks around, realising that his bird-like companion disappeared.
"you seemed to have scared away the tourists too." victor grumbles.

Goandai, you might wanna roll Perception...Whoever else can, as well. And my check was actually 15, from the -10 quick hide penalty.

Nekare! run, hunt elsewhere.
she tilts her head and whines sljghtly before bolting off
again, my apologies as he helps victor to his feet I came here tk escape my peoples' reputation, but it seems I'm doomed tk be feared.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
discretely keeps his eye on the hidden Thoyoitu

"It could be your wolf." victor offers helpfully.

He sticks out his hand to greet the goblinoid.
"victor. Nice to meet you."

Thoyoitu comes out of the corner, "Do keep your beast in line, sir. But, pleased to meet you none the less. Now, have you see the Oracle, perhaps? You're a Goblin, I see." His voice changes to a hint of fear and disgust, "As long as you're not a hob goblin, we'll do just fine."

Victor reaches for his case and grabs a small vial.
anyone can attempt a craft (alchemy) or any other relevant checks to identify the vial (dc 14)

What is it?:

It's a bomb.

"That wouldn't happen to be a drink for a man fallen on hard times, would it?"

he sighs I'm afraid you've mistaken me for my smaller, filthier kin. I am indeed a hobgoblin, and it is stares like tbe one you're giving me that I wish to escape he looks wistfully at the path his friend gas taken into the woods

"The Hobgoblins where I come from look different from you, I must say. So long as your actions differ as well, we shan't have a problem. But for my own reasons, I would prefer to think of you as a Goblin instead."

I would ask what my people have done to make you prefer even a goblin to a hobgoblin, but I suspect I can guess. we have a long history of warring unnecessarily and taking people as the spoils of those wars. We've been doing it so long our entire coulture would collapse withiut the constant acquisition of new slaves. I am not surprised if you're less than charmed to meet me

"I should try not to hold a grudge against you personally, sir, but let's just say...your people are the reason I'm here, and not back home. Now, let's please change the subject. How was your trip, hmm?"

As the wolf attacked two things happened, tenguuin disappearing, and the other was a sudden change in Rosalyn, the nice polite lady went and in her place.
Acrobatics 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
The tall aasimar leaped backwards, going high and landing in a combat pose some 10' behind where she had been, but now her long spear pointing deadly, at the side of the wolf ready to gut it. The look on her face a serous one, this lady was not messing about, she meant to kill.

Them at the call of the wolfs owner she held her strike. Soon as it became apparent it was just a wayward pet, she pulled back her spear and relaxed. The nice lady back once more.
As victor got up she went over to him, checking he was whole and unhurt. She was still doing this as the hobgoblin came to apologise for his pets actions.
She kept quiet as they talked, hoping there would be no more unruly pets.

After having come and gone from the taphouse several silver pieces lighter, Akarine meandered along the docks - there was little for her now until sun set and that was hours from now, giving her ample time to walk the streets of Cyrene while light-headed from the liquor she downed minutes ago. Just as she rounded the corner at the edge of Arcadia Avenue the white-haired maiden took note of the wolf leaping and meeting it's target before racing away, drawing a hard frown to her lips as her gaze flitted back towards the goblinoid and his furry (and feathered) company. She started to speak up from her place on the docks but instead shook her head, starting down towards the group with another wordless sigh.

The woman approached slowly, sure to keep a number of feet back as though to listen in on the conversation for a moment until she stood in close to the gang. "You ought to be careful," Akarine said as she gestured down the way after the wolf with a wave. "Amazed the guards did not come in to wrestle the thing down. The stables are just down Rovinga's Way - it would be wise to keep your friend there or on a leash rather than on top of anyone else." She took a moment to look Goandai over from head to toe a time or two then, arms folded smartly across her steel breastplate before her hazel eyes flicked from one traveler to the next and back again in quiet appraisal.

Rosalyn smiled Akarine, the six and a half foot Aasimar cleric says.

"thank you for your advice and the warning. Im Lady Rosalyn Aanya Luminuss"

She offered her hand to Akarine

"nice to meet you, by the sounds of it you know theses parts well. Would you mind answering some questions for us, like where can one get a good drink here about's"

She then looks at the others,

"What do you say, a local guide would be of great help to our growing little group."

She turns back to Akarine,

"I think where in the proses of forming an adventuring group, where all offering our talents as services. I'm a healer and explorer, with the gift of slow and clumsy flight, but still useful. O and I'm trained in the ways of combat, helps I think."

Akarine got to ask, you know a hell of a lot about the setting, not only street names but how the locals act and what they do, is that you adding or are you a GM PC ?

Her character is local to the island, but we haven't put planned, it's her creative license, which is totally cool I'm this situation.

If others would post some, in character that'd be great! Is like to see how the characters interact

cool GM got ya,

She then looks at the others,

"What do you say, a local guide would be of great help to our growing little group."

She turns back to Akarine,

"I think where in the proses of forming an adventuring group, where all offering our talents as services to it. I'm a cleric, healer and explorer, with the gift of slow and clumsy flight, but still flight, useful I hope to the group."

She open hand points at victor.

"Vitor here is well equipped Alchemist"

She looks around

"Tenguin, where ever he is seems to be, is very good at, NOT being seen"

Then she indicates to

"Somar here is a half Drow who seems to be a waver of magics, if his hair wile coming of the ship is any indication, sorry if I am wrong Somar. I must say, I did like the look."

She playfully winks at him.

"and this fellow with the wolf we have only just meet, as you just witnessed. So then back to the Important things in life, where's the bar"

She jokes that last part,

For a moment the woman chewed upon her lower lip in thought, scanning Rosalyn over a second or third time as she stood in silence. Before long she had looked out to the bay, another sigh rolling through her as she felt at the half-empty purse hanging off her belt. "A local guide would help? Forming an adventuring group too?" she parroted with eyes off in the distance. "I suppose I could help you out there then; Cyrene is a big place for such a little island."

"There," she said with a point out towards a rising hill to the east capped in white stone walls with a towering fort at it's center. "There is where you want to go if you truly want to know of the island and our history - Valdosta the Conquer lives there. Surely you have heard of her before?" Her wave then swept westwards and along a wide path, easily large enough to accommodate a trio of wagons abreast with room in the gutters to spare. A few robed merchants hawked their wares of spices and steel and scrolls, some brightly-clad entertainers tumbling through or spitting fire out for tips from the travelers. "...though here is where you will find your drinks! There is a taphouse no more than two blocks this way, just past the Emporium, filled to the brim with sell-swords. You would find yourself in good company there no doubt, but it is most certainly a bit... seedy." Akarine offered a sheepish grin at her own remark.

Sorry with the slow posts! Seems like I'm working when you all are already at home!

A cloaked figure walks down the gang plank to the ship. Hood drawn over his scaly flesh.
Hmmm. An interesting group to be traveling home with.

He steps on board walking over to the far side away from the other passengers.

Thoyoitu stands up behind Rosalyn and looks at Akarine, "You look like the Oracle described to me. But your name, I know not." He scans Akarine up and down, his cautious expression relaxing as he goes on. Finally, he steps forward and extends his hand in friendship.

"My name is Thoyoitu, also known as the Tenguin. I am not much a scholar, but I was among the brightest and wisest of my tribe. I am, though, a skilled linguist. I am also somewhat of an expert in perception avoidance and possession liberation. But those days are behind me now. Now, I must lead my people from our homeland. They should be arriving shortly, I hope."

His eyes now on Rosalyn, "I saw you writing. As I said, I am a linguist and man of intellect myself. Might I inquire as to what you wrote about?"

I thought you guys were going to spoiler the RP ;)

@Reknar I think it kind of feel by the wayside

Rosalyn seem self-assured and confident, happy to talk with every one.
She stands holding her spear for support and with one leg resting on the other.

@ Akarine

"Seedy you say, humm I think maybe later and as a group, but thank you for that, it was most helpful"

Rosalyn takes out her notebook, and makes some notes, on the cover of it is the symbol of the God-Learners. Wile she writes she says.

"O Thoyoitu, the note taking is port of the Ideology I adhere to, I'm a God-Learner. We learn about cultures, races and faiths as a matter of belief. I'm taking notes now on all the new thinks here that I have not seen before. Simple and harmless."

Kn Realign DC14:

The God-Learners have reputation for questioning the legitimacy of the gods. Some call the Heretics.

Kn Realign DC18:

Some say God-Learners wish one of two things, every one to be a god or no one at all.

Kn Realign DC20:

Its a lot more complicated than that. Some say they feel the gods FEED of lesser beings and that there may be beings above gods that feed off them

She puts the notebook away.

Seeing the intervene, victor puts the vial away before he catalyzes it.
"ooooooo a local guide. How exciting!" he muses to no one in particular.

Humm GM Pyro
"STORY!
You are off to face your fate, whichever way the winds will you. You start aboard a ship but will make for shore soon enough. DUN DUN DUUUUUUN! You will have to survive the trials of a savage and untamed land before you can venture forth and take up the mantle of your destiny"

Wild Untamed land? Hehe Well wild it may be but untamed?, We have Akarine a local who's been living here most if not all of her life and now Pyre Igneel who's from here and heading in-country home, how many others are form here?, I can see fights starting over who Kn Local is best :0)

The white-haired warrior blinked dumbly for a moment at the tengu's outstretched hand for a moment before giving her head a brief shake and accepting it in a firm hold. "I, ah... I may be one such woman I suppose. I am Akarine, Daughter of Rudo." She bowed her head then in a polite nod before offering one in a similar fashion to the remainder of the party in question until she looked to Rosalyn once more with a a bit of a shrug.

"There is little in the city here not open to travelers - save the drilling grounds, we welcome any and all provided they follow our law keenly. The archives in particular are welcoming to scholars and philosophers should that be of interest, though it is a ways from the wharf." Again she shrugged, rucksack clanking softly against the back of her breastplate in the move. "I know of the paths here, which there are many, but I know not you. What is it you intend to find here? Room and board perhaps?"

Nekare the wolf returns from the island's wilds, still licking blood from the fur of her neck and around her mouth. Goandai kneels down to greet her and the two touch noses and nuzzle against one another for the briefest of moments. He strokes her fur affectionately and casually licks the blood that has transferred from her fur to his hands.

he stands before addressing the islander Akarine, I've heard you're island hosts a population of druids, how would I go about meeting some of them?

Victor waits for Goandai to get his answer before he pipes up
"forgive me for being ignorant but what exactly are the drilling grounds for?"

Rosalyn looks away as the hobgoblin get intimate with his wolf, but looks back at his comments about Druids. She makes a note in her little book.,

The at victors question, she some how thinks it was asked generally.

"Well it's mostly used as a military term, Victor, where one trains ones troops, To drill them in formation in an open space, or grounds. The dwarfs have the same term that is more literal and to do with hydrocarbon extraction and I don't think that definition is applicable here. So it's where troops are trained."

Victor realises his error and corrects himself.
"ohhhhh. Military Drilling grounds. Though if it was a hydrocarbon extraction facility, i'd suppose i would have a cracking good time at it"
Victor chuckles at his own joke, before realising it might be a little too abstract for anyone to notice
"you know, cracking as in the process of breaking down hydrocarbons and the metaphorically meaning of having a good time?" Victor rambles on, feeling a tad insecure about being understood well enough

K locate will be good for figuring out the last of the lands you explore, but the game hasn't started. The island is a decent pre-game hub, so don't worry, I'll give you untamed alright! };o] *wonk

She nods,
"I bet to an alchemist, working in the dwarf petrochemical warrens would be fun. All those heating flasks and pipes. She they blow up so often, high risk job being a dwarf alchemist."

She seems happy to talk to victor about his interest.

The she says,
"I did hours of drilling once"

She kicks the base of her long spear and spins it into a front thrust stance.

"Me and a few hundred others, spear unit tactics they said, we where the best, weeks then when the big battle came, spent all day looking at the other army from the back of a formation and never even rase it. Next day they signed a peace accord and that was the end of the war. I'm pleased in a way, all that death averted."

She puts the spear back down,

"I'm glad war was avoided. My warren suffered a more..... gristly fate." Victor trails off into the distance, lost in a daydream.

Shadow Lodge

Woah, I missed a great deal. How to catch up?

In response to Victor questioning.

Your generosity is a revelation Victor, I Somar, bow to your graciousness A practiced measured bow, by Des.

This foppish nature seems to go over well. Mental note(Congeniality goes over well travelers.) We seem to be gathering a crowd now

Des loses himself in the thought of how he should proceed. Considering, he has contacts now, a income revenue should be in order. His mind seems to go unfocused till he realizes their is a rather large wolf on top of Victor.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Alchemy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Next thing he knows the Tengu the group was conversing with vanished, Rosalyn is flying and Victor pulls a bomb from his pack.

What in the Infinite Abyss is happening? Takes a second to gauge for first blood. Well, no one seems to be stabbing me. He spies the white haired local and her nonchalant-ness of the situation. Guess it is all good, but I'll be damned if I don't know whats going on around me.

I'll add more later, just so tired

Thoyoitu, who keeps disappearing somehow, appears behind Desula. "I don't believe we've met."
