Confusion on EE release

So I've been looking through multiple updates and forum posts including the news on the goblin works website

So far I've gotten that release has been pushed back to the 25th

Everyone with EE access regardless of month packaging will have access (I have month two but also have the new players pack and alliance pack which was a tad confusing reading the new updates)

If there are any issues that I've missed and you could clarify that would be fantastic.

The release is the 25th

Not sure if anything there says month two people are in early? Maybe? - though you can get into alpha right now with an invite.

Apparently according to alpha forums they are trying to get the new player and other packs in at EE because clearly the new player ones may be pretty useless even a few weeks into the game.

What will happen with people that bought packs for their DT (which is delayed) I am unsure.

Release was pushed back until the 25th. Everyone who bought in at the $100 level starts day 1 and everyone who bought in at the $50 level starts a month later.

The release date is a moving target. 9/25 is the current best guess, but it could change again.

As far as I can tell, if your account is Early Enrollment, you're in on 9/25 (the web site still shows the old estimated date of 9/15). If you have an Explorer account, you'll get in about a month later than the Early Enrollment people (right now, I'd guess 10/15, but that's just a guess).

I don't think the various packs affect your start date, but I don't know. I don't think we have any clue when the items from the various packs will actually show up in the game.

There are two different scenarios involving Month 2 accounts. Originally, in the days of the second Kickstarter, some Early Enrollment accounts would have been Month 1, and some would have been Month 2. That's gone now. As far as I know, all accounts officially labeled as Early Enrollment get in on the same day. Month 2 is now only for people who buy Explorer accounts from the Goblinworks store.

Do you know where in the Alpha forum I could find that discussion? The lack of a search function over there is pretty bad for finding stuff.

Edit: Even using Google with site:goblinworks.com doesn't seem to be able to find Alpha forum posts.

Cool thanks for the clarification, I didn't get in on the kick starter and did buy on goblin works for the $100 purchase. I just wanted to know what day to look for the download to be available instead of constantly checking back. So thanks everyone :)

The easiest way to find stuff if you remember who said it is click on the name and go through their posts.

In this case though I think it was from that period where posts where deleted in the change from old to new servers.

It was a throw away comment in another discussion where Stephen or Ryan said they are hoping to get the packs done in time for EE.

If you have any enrollment type account at all (Early or Open), you'll be allowed into the alpha probably on the 18th.

Any of the kickstarter early enrollment or $100 goblinworks early enrollment accounts will be in from then on. Explorer accounts will drop out when the alpha closes, and come back in about a month later. Open Enrollment accounts will also drop out then, to return in a year or so (unless upgraded or things change.)

So, everybody who's paid to play is expected to get a week or so of alpha starting about the 18th of September.

(edit: unless you need the Mac client, in which case, cross your fingers)

Okay, thanks. I hope they can get them done in time.

That seems to mean you're a Crowdforger. If I'm correct in that then in the current timetable you should be able to start playing in alpha next week (when it's open to anyone that's purchased access at any point) and keep going straight through to EE without interruption.

Without interuption except for a little complete server wipe.

I'd like to point out that New Player Packs won't be "useless" ever. There will be new characters being created continuously.

I'm not too crazed about that line of thinking. It makes my purchases of an extra pair feel like investments intended for sale, not items I'd hoped to use.

Oh well, Twins aren't available right away; perhaps he'll be able to use one.

I would caution players to think of the first couple of weeks of play as a time to experiment and see how systems interconnect. Throwing away a character after a couple of days of experimentation will not be uncommon.

So it'll kinda be like dating...

No, that's usually where you get thrown away, not where you throw away someone else. ;-)

I kid, I kid... seemed like an easy place to add to the joke at hand. :)

But unlike at the very start of EE, there will later-on be an abundant supply of beginner-gear available in every settlement, either through gear abandoned by earlier players by gearing-up, or by crafter who need to fulfill their crafting achievements.

Perhaps, due to that, there'll something unexpectedly juicy--while still minor--in the New Player Packs.

Went for DT, because I would have a second character training day 1

Daily Deals, for starting stuff day 1

Starter packs, for starting stuff day 1

Not meant to be sold to other players later down the road, but used by the people who bought them. While they are useful.

There will be plenty of starter gear across the board in a couple weeks or a month. The reason to have that equipment is to have something immediately and not wait for crafters to get rolling.

So that's the issue, eh? I didn't know that.
