Cestus & the Amulet of Mighty Fists

Rules Questions

Greets folks,

This quote is taken from the Cestus descriptor:

Benefit: While wearing a cestus, you are considered armed and your unarmed attacks deal normal damage. If you are proficient with a cestus, your unarmed strikes may deal bludgeoning or piercing damage. Monks are proficient with the cestus.

This quote is taken for the Amulet of Mighty Strikes"

This amulet grants an enhancement bonus of +1 to +5 on attack and damage rolls with unarmed attacks and natural weapons.

So the question is does the amulet work with the cestus?

I ask because the wording of the cestus seems to imply that if proficient, they become part of an unarmed attack by virtue of the fact the unarmed attacks can now deal two different types of damage.

Thanks in advance,

A Cestus does Cestus damage.

You can enchant a Cestus, as it is a weapon, and not an enhancement to unarmed strikes.

Strictly speaking gauntlets and the like simply function in lieu of the improved unarmed strike feat, and the generic damage listed for them is really variable based on class features and feats impacting unarmed strikes (or in this case items). Enhancements made to such a weapon certainly would not stack with AMF, but I don't see why the effect would not apply to the damage from a mundane cestus.

Danke dudes :)
