Need for Compilation encyclopedia books? Is there a need?

Product Discussion

Pathfinder is getting to have MANY choices spread out over many books
Not sure on the Classes count (something like 26-30?)

Is there a need for collection compilation books?

I know this info is available online at a few websites
But I am "old school" and really prefer having hard cover books

I would LOVE a massive 570 page core rule book sized book, collection of all classes (and archetypes)

I realize these collection books have limited value as they often have little to no new info

But...would certainly be interested in Collection book of all the classes (perhaps new artwork?)

After that Spell collection

Then I am not sure how much interest I would have
But perhaps collection book of feats and skills?
Then Magic item collection?

Curious as to your thoughts on this

Pathfinder employees? Has collection books ever been seriously discussed?

I would be a big fan of compiled sourcebooks. I would love a book with all the feats.I'd love to see a book with nothing but non-setting specific prestige classes.
I'd probably get all of them *shrug*

I would also like a Rules Compendium book. Maybe just a PDF that is easy for Paizo to keep up-to-date. No art, no fluff, just a basic encyclopedia of the mechanical rules. Question comes up at a table about flanking. Open book to index, find Flank, turn to page XXX, read the definition, done. Much easier than the current process of starting with one book, not finding it there, switch to another, and another, giving up and hitting d20pfsrd, etc.

Oh man, I would be first in line for a huge dead-tree book of everything compiled into encyclopedia-style printings. Some with Kami's request for just a Rules Compendium book... back in my 4e days, that RC book got used so much it was crazy.

Interesting topic, Zodin. Unfortunately it doesn't give me books to kill burglars with, but interesting nevertheless.

The trouble with a dead tree version of any such book is that it would be obsolete almost immediately.
