Perception Trait?

Advice

Dark Archive

Is there a trait that grants perception as a class skill? If so, where can it be found? Thanks for any help.

Silver Crusade

Seeker
Eyes and Ears of the City

Grand Lodge

Observant for Grand Lodge members, though it'd be allowed in home games without that prereq I imagine.

Oh Seeker, why are you so good. Finally I can play Paladins that can see/hear/notice their way out of a paper bag.

Silver Crusade

Yep, I took Seeker on a recent cleric I made for PFS. WTF is up with like hardly any of the Wis based classes having perception as a class skill?

Veteran Jungle Guide is another.

I expect it is the same reason Sorcerers don't have Diplomacy, Disguise, Handle Animal and some of the other Charisma skills.

Allow those who don't get all their power from that attribute to compete with those who do.

You can also take the feat Cosmopolitan: pick two skills that use the same mental attribute and make them class skills. You also get two languages for free with that feat.

Seeker is pretty much perfect for any character since it describes a trait common to most adventurers.

Some not yet mentioned I am aware of:

Militant Merchant [Dwarf only]: found in Taldor, Echoes of Glory

Underbridge Dweller: found in Varisia, Birthplace of Legends

Valashmai Veteran: found in the Dragon Empires Primer

Tomb Raider [exclusive to members of the Scarab Sages faction]

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Also, at the bottom of this page, there is a comprehensive list of all the traits that give skills in class.

Seeker, why are you so delightfully vague that your fluff could apply to anybody?

It is fantastic- it just says you watch out for danger or reward....which is pretty much anybody that wants to be an adventurer (people who aren't either do the sane thing and find a safer job...or they get 'retired' early).

It is not something like vagabond child, where you have to make up some convoluted excuse for why your noble lived on the street (admittedly, I think I could spin that by taking from the Pauper and the Prince...still, general point- seeker doesn't need mental gymnastics like this)
